Summary
Welcome to Willoughby Close...a charming cluster of cozy cottages, each with a story to tell and a happy ending to deliver.
Emily David didn’t want to move to Willoughby Close. She was perfectly content in London, but when her boss, Henry Trent, asks her to relocate, she’s left with little choice. Emily prefers living on her own and finds comfort in her routines. But the well-meaning residents of Wychwood-on-Lea are determined to include her in their friendly circle - a prospect Emily finds utterly alarming.
When sparks fly with local pub owner Owen Jones, Emily’s safe and fragile world threatens to shatter. She has too many secrets to keep, and Owen’s gentle understanding could be her undoing. But as Owen persists, Emily’s heart softens, and she begins to discover the wonder of trusting friends - and falling in love. That is, until she discovers Owen has a secret of his own....
Can Willoughby Close work its charm and magic once more? And can someone who has been determined to stay lonely find - and trust - love right on her doorstep?

English please
Please if an American person is reading the book, have them say English words when speaking in an English accent rather than saying American words such as mobile. If we can’t have English words from an American then please let’s have an English person reading a book set in England

Not bad but better as an actual book
Story sweet and nice. The American accent of the reader is highly annoying and the voice of Owen sounds as if he’s being strangled. Emily seems to be forever sighing. On the whole, the characters voices were not brilliant.

Good Beach Read, but grating listen
An enjoyable, usual girl meets boy type book. Easy holiday read. Totally spoilt for me by the choice of narrator. I can't recall who read for the audio book and her performance was ok but she is American. Nothing wrong with American voices but why would the main character's inner voice have an American accent but speak with an English accent. Don't get me started on the accents, both Welsh and Manchester clearly referenced in the story but none existent in the listening.

Why the “American” accent?!
Like other reviewers I cannot work out why the narration is in a highly irritating American accent for an English story with English characters. The main character’s thoughts are delivered in American, and with their colloquialisms as well, “Mobil” phone?! Ruined the story
