Heartwarming well written romance

I love Lisa Jewell's books so started this one with high expectations. I was not disappointed whilst it was not a psychological thriller it was beautifully written and I really became invested in Vince and Joy and their story. I would recommend this book as a great holiday read perfect for a long flight or the beach. I also enjoyed the narration and actually found a male narrator that I warmed to. Would recommend this book to anyone wanting a good old-fashioned love story.

Loved it

I wish I didn't have to leave Vince and Joy behind when the book ended. I enjoyed it start to end and this was helped by the excellent dual narration.

Very enjoyable

Lovely read, a love story which is quite realistic about love stories that aren’t that perfect. Dealing with divorce not being a taboo in a love story book.

Loved it!!

What a great book, just couldn’t wait to hear what happened next and the twists and turns of both Vince and Joy’s lives. Want a sequel!

Surprisingly gripping

As others have said, this is no psychological thriller but it is strangely gripping. I became so invested in the characters and the stories felt so real and relatable. I loved it.

Excellent

This was a very well constructed and enjoyable book.
The characters were all believable and I felt empathy with all of them. But the intricacies of the plot were very good and so cleverly managed.
It would make a great film!

Enjoyably frustrating!

Loved this more than I thought. The way Vincent and Joy keep floating in and out of each others lives can be frustrating but thats the whole essence of the story.

Perfect

I enjoyed every minute of this. Brilliant narration as usual especially by Antonia Beamish. Will always have a soft spot for Vince and Joy. Well paced and thoroughly enjoyable with an element of suspense. Beautifully written.

Great story but was hoping for a better ending

Really great love story of love loss and separation through the ages. Written well and performed brilliantly with two separate actors which helps to cement which character you're listening to. The only thing that I was disappointed by was the ending. I was really hoping for some kind of epilogue or more finishing off after all the build up. Still enjoyed it though and would listen again.

Disappointing

Have loved all Lisa’s other books. Perhaps I didn’t give this long enough but a couple of hours in I was bored. So returned it. Sorry ...
