About this listen
Book 49 in the best-selling In Death series. Eve Dallas takes on a serial killer dispensing their own form of justice.
When a family man is tortured, killed and left in front of his family home for all the world to see, Eve Dallas knows she is on the hunt for a particularly dangerous killer.
But death uncovers secrets, and the killer leaves a note revealing the victim to be far from the family man he appears. As Eve scrambles to find out what she can to link victim and killer, another body is found. Another man with a dark and murky past.
The race is on before the killer strikes again, but Eve must wrestle with her demons and her conscience as she decides whether she really wants to protect men who probably deserve everything they get....

Absolutely Engrossing Story!
This was an absolutely intriguing and engrossing novel. I think many can emphasise and sympathise with it. Men will find it painful!
The only thing that I am put out by, is the fact that Ms Erickson appeared to have lost the tone of both Roarke and Eve’s voices. They’re not quite the same (unless it’s me)! But otherwise, this was a great read. I wish that there was another to rush into!

Brilliant
Once again jd robb doesn’t disappoint you would think after so many books in the series that she would run out of ideas or start repeating, but no every story is an original and brilliant. This one was no exception.

A right good listen
I couldn't press pause too often but the killer was outed too soon. Good narration.

A "filler episode"
This is a good read. It has an interesting plot with the already established and much beloved characters.
Yet, it failed to move the character's story forward. It did not add anything to their story.
If the "In Death" series would have been a TV Series, I would say that this could have been categorised as a "filler episode".

Getting a bit bored
I’ve either read or listened to all the books in this series, and I think the author has got stuck in a rut with the main character. Yes, she hates dressing up to go to a “fancy” do, yes, she hates having her hair and makeup done, yes, she hates Summerset, and blah blah. Poor Rourke. There aren’t many signs that Dallas is growing up. She’s still bitching about what she’s always bitched about. The plots are usually interesting, this one not so much. I hope it picks up a lot in the next one. The side characters are becoming more interesting than the main. The narration was excellent as always. Not one of JD Robb’s finest.

Repetitive- no character growth
This series is becoming predictable .
It’s a shame because I’d like to think the characters have more layers and a more interesting life than what we are getting now.
