Summary

From Book 1:

I was a divorced, middle-aged witch banished to Ireland.

My life could be summed up in a limerick....

There once was a misguided witch

Who tried a man’s fate to switch

Her punishment set

To Ireland she must get

But better than feathers and pitch!

With a name like Quinn Calahan, I sounded as Irish as a leprechaun dancing a jig on a four leafed clover, but the truth was, I’d never been closer to the emerald isle than drinking green beer at the St Patrick’s day street party in Boston until I messed up so badly I had to leave the US. I was offered a job in a tiny village in Ireland that no one’s ever heard of. And I think that was the point in sending me there. How much trouble could a divorced, middle-aged witch get into in a village that boasted very few residents, one crumbling castle that attracted no tourists, and a post office that was only open Mondays and Thursdays?

You’d be surprised.

You will fall in love with this series about second chances, magical mayhem, and book club unlike any other. From the author of the best-selling Vampire Knitting Club series.

I really enjoyed this cozy mystery.
The narration is great and the characters are a lot of fun.
I love than this was set in a quiet little village in co cork with the addition of witches and vampires.

Another Brilliant Series

Nancy Warren does it again. Another great read. I love the fact the main character is over the age of 40. She writes such great characters and I love that this is set in Ireland. I also really love Holly MCarthy as the narrator. Can’t wait for the next instalment!

Ever wondered what happened to Oscar Wilde?

Nice easy going 'cosy' mystery which doesn't take too much thinking about. Perfect accompaniment to a leisurely stroll, an hours knitting or zipping through the housework. It was nice fo have a crossover from the vampire knitting club series, a bit like an old friend dropping in. They didn't add much to the story but it was a pleasant aside. There were enough suspects to make it interesting but not so many that you lost track of the action when you had to leave the story for a while. I particularly liked the idea of Oscar Wilde may have joined the ranks of the undead and joined a vampire book club! My only criticism is the English and Irish accents the reader presented. I found they grated a little and were distracting. Not distracting enough to stop me listening to more in the series. On the whole a pleasant change to listening to the news or podcasts whilst pottering around. Nice one!

Mystery with vampires, witches & a bookshop keeper

This is a charming story with a cosy murder mystery set in Ireland. A newly arrived book shop manager has arrived from America and within hours she stumbles across a dead body! She dies zone of her own investigating along with some local vampires who are all part of her shop's midnight book club!
I adore this story and it's clever and sweet. Nancy Warren has created another wonderful series. Hollis McCarthy does a wonderful job of narrating with her soft and gentle style! Now onto book 2!

Boring

Sorry but characters uninteresting and too much alike. Too much description of situations, not enough action.
