Summary

From USA Today best-selling author A. M. Madden comes a compelling story about one man’s awakening to all-new desires - and to a life-altering romance.

I’ve always been known as the hopeless romantic...the nice guy...the sweetheart.

Everything in my life supported this persona. My students loved my easy personality. My colleagues admired the way I handled myself in the classroom.

But something was always missing.

Like so many relationships before it, my current attempt at love felt like a dead end. When she gave me an ultimatum, I couldn’t promise to give her what she wanted.

So, she ended it.

Explaining another breakup to my family was the last thing I wanted. But doing it on a luxury yacht at my brother’s wedding lessened the hardship.

I never imagined that trip would change everything...and I certainly wasn’t prepared for him to change everything.

Upside Down is a sister’s-best-friend straight-to-gay stand-alone romance that contains adult content.

Nothing missing

AM Madden did a super job with the story. Cooper and Rickie where great characters to get to know and the journey with them was nice. Set sail for an awakening at sea that will complete the missing piece. Conner Goff was fantastic with the narration. A repeat listing to the story is in my future.

I enjoyed this story over all

Slow burn like way slow burn. Cooper has been straight his whole life and didn’t know anything different only feeling something was missing in his relationships and couldn’t figure out why he couldn’t commit long term. Ricky has been out since his teen years but had a bad experience with a straight guy in college and is very hesitant in getting involved with Cooper even though he was attracted to him. Thus begins there long slow burn of discovery between them. Cooper once he figures out that this is what was missing with all his other relationships is ready to go full on. Ricky on the other hand is dragging because of his one bad straight guy experience which is pulling him back every time Cooper try’s to push forward. Both men have baggage they have to get through and Ricky takes it very slow with them coming all the way together. Like chapter 21. He ends up pushing their first time together because of running into his ex who is with another guy. Cooper finds out weeks later and feels defeated in some ways so he come to the conclusion that they need time to figure out what is next. I enjoyed the 3rd person ending though.
