Summary

A single-dad forced-proximity stand-alone romance from New York Times best-selling author K. Bromberg.

Crew Madden needs to find a place to recover. For his twin girls. For himself. From the woman who left them without a backward glance.

Recovering from a traumatic event, a summer in the small town of Redemption Falls was the perfect solution for him. For his family. The only drawback? The rental cottage at the end of the drive.

But then he met its tenant.

The quiet, guarded, sexy-as-sin woman who took Crew’s breath away.

Tennyson West moved to Redemption Falls to hide. From her previous world of abundance. From the woman she used to be. For a chance to start over...and be free.

She’s settled into her new life on the outskirts of a small town, content with her solitude. Her peaceful life.

And then she met her new landlord.

Crew Madden—and his sweet daughters—entered her life with a bang. She learned how to laugh again, to love again, something she never thought would be possible.

It was only meant to be a summer fling, but as demons from their past knocked on the door, their relationship was tested. Was their love strong enough to keep them together, or would danger drive them apart for good?

A very pleasant audiobook indeed

I wasn’t totally satisfied with this book. Don’t get me wrong, I quite enjoyed the sweet romance, the small town shenanigans, the little family. But the suspense part? The reason why Tennyson is there in the first place? I waited a long time for it, and it was resolved way too quickly.

Surprisingly–or not–the man who lives next door, her landlord, the guy she’s falling for, helped by his twin girls, is a police officer. Crew is a nice guy, but he knows what he wants, and he wants Tennyson. He has a tragic past too, personal and professional, and keeping the people he cares about safe is his priority. See where it’s going?

The author builds some tension by having many flashback chapters where we discover Tennyson’s life before she arrives at Redemption falls. They’re the thrilling bits, the glimpses of suspense, the taste of blood and violence–though they’re pretty tame. Until the very end, when we finally get a sense of imminent danger.

Put together a woman with secrets and a dangerous past, and a protector at heart, and you should get an intense romantic suspense. Instead–and it’s an arguable choice but not out of place–the author chooses to focus on Tennyson and Crew’s relationship. Scenes of domesticity, or the way Crew slowly opens up to Tennyson and she pushes him to mingle more with the townsfolk.

The narrators were seriously good, adequately tensed when required. The emotions were there, a very pleasant audiobook indeed.

A feel-good single dad, small town romance

With UNTIL YOU, K. Bromberg brings us a new swoon-worthy small town, single dad romance – and I’m so here for it! Crew and his twin daughters were absolutely adorable. I loved the way the two girls meddled and only wanted the best for their dad. How Crew was as a father in general, despite or because of the chip on his shoulder his failed marriage left him with. And Tennyson. The guarded, introverted tenant in the other house on his uncle’s property where he and the girls are moving to after a tragic incident at work. Tennyson herself comes with her own baggage and, like Crew, is all but looking for a relationship. But neither of them can deny the instant attraction and unexplainable connection they feel from the very beginning … This book ticks off so many boxes – small town, neighbors, single dad, friends to lovers, and forced proximity. It’s full of emotion, beautiful and heartfelt moments, and a set of characters to capture your heart.

The narration is done by Samantha Brentmoor and Blake Lockheart. And while I felt and experienced every of Tenny’s emotion through Ms. Brentmoor’s vivid performance, Mr. Lockheart’s was a bit too monotone and flat for my liking, making Crew’s POV missing spark and passion, and on the other hand has me wondering if I might have enjoyed reading the story instead even more.

Single dad, small town romance

Crew is such a sweet man, and his tween daughters are adorable. Tennyson grew on me as her backstory was revealed, but I didn't think I'd like her much.

I enjoyed this book and how two wounded souls found each other and healed each other.

So Good!!

This is the first book in The Redemption Series. Crew and Tennyson's story is engaging, sweet, emotional, and heartwarming, filled with drama, mystery, suspense, and twists and turns. There is a lot going on in the story. Crew, a single dad, is very handsome, protective, determined, insightful, and caring. Tennyson/Tenny is beautiful, smart, and strong. Crew's twin daughters Abby and Paige are clever and adorable! The plot is well crafted, and captivating. Blake Lockheart and Samantha Brentmoor did a fantastic job bringing this story to life. They are perfect as Crew and Tennyson. I love their voices together. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it. Looking forward to listening to more in the series. I was giving this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Small Town Single Parent Romance

Until You by K. Bromberg is a small-town single parent romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Blake Lockheart and Samantha Brentmoor. This is the first book in The Redemption series.

This is the first book of Kristy's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I was pulled in from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Crew and Tennyson. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Blake and Samantha did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like small town romances, single parent romances, friends to lover's romances, or forced proximity romances.

Sweet and Swoony small town romance

I loved this sweet and swoony small town romance with a single dad and a beautiful tenant with a mysterious and dangerous past.

Crew Madden moves to Redemption Falls along with his twin daughters. A former big city police officer, he is recovering from a close call at work and reevaluating how he sees his future with his girls.

“I don’t have fancy words or know how to say things to girls, but I knew how to show them that I wouldn’t let them fall . . . whether it be trying something new or simply figuring out how to deal with what life had thrown at them.”

Tennyson West is living in solitude, keeping a low profile but worry about danger from her past keeps her from really being able to plan for any kind of future.

I listened to most of this story on audiobook and loved the narration. It was definitely the way to go.

Fabulous listen!

I love when I can turn on a book and fall into the story. This happens every time I pick a K Bromberg book to hear. She knows how to bring a romance to life. This is the first in her Redemption series and it's fabulous. Crew is recovering from a work injury and dealing with some PTSD. To get away for a while, he takes his twin girls and goes to his uncle's house. There is a tenant in a small home on the property that is in need of repair and part of the exchange is for him to take care of it. A little slow on getting things accomplished, the girls take it upon themselves to go meet the neighbor. Tennyson is in hiding. Loving her place, it's quiet and she keeps to herself. No one knows her story and she is not willing to tell it. But when she meets the girls and Crew, her life begins to change. Crew isn't looking for a new relationship either, but there is something about Tenny that has his attention. Bromberg has a way of cultivating her characters and telling her story so I feel like I am there. I fell in love with the twins immediately. Spunky, adventurous and not afraid to say what they want, they add to the fun! Crew and Tenny are quite the pair. Both come with baggage creating obstacles and a bit of angst, but their chemistry is off the charts! I loved this book and will be watching for book 2 to drop!

Blake Lockheart and Samantha Brentmoor, what a pair! Two of my favorites telling me this story, I could not have asked for more. Lockheart plays Crew to perfection. He gives Crew all his feelings, from fatherly to guilt to love. He knows how to make me fee. Brentmoor is so good, and as Tenny she shines. Bringing out her fears and protectiveness of everyone around her made Tenny real. Then the motherly instinct kicks in and this woman is amazing! I loved their performance together and hope to hear more from them!

Super sweet small town romance

I binge listened to this story. It was super addictive, super enjoyable and super sexy. A little suspense in the mix (not too much), just enough to keep me on my toes. Crew Madden is the single dad (of two adorable 11 year old twin girls), who has moved away from the city to gain a fresh perspective for himself and his girls. Tennyson West is the quiet recluse living on his property. Both are needing a fresh start, becoming friends is easy, denying their chemistry is harder. Even when they become more, they hold back their demons. Will Tenny be able to trust again? Will her past catch up to her? Will Crew realise he has other options in life? I sure hope so. I can’t wait for more from Redemption Falls. Small town romance is one of my favourite genres, add in single dad Crew, and I was in Heaven. I’m so glad I listened to the audio, Blake Lockheart and Samantha Brentwood were wonderful.

A great story with fabulous narration.

This is a next-door neighbours, single dad, slightly-forced-proximity romance with a side of suspense, and I was here for it all. Crew’s an ex-cop and father trying to escape events of his past and create happy memories this summer. Tenny is living in the hope that her past never collides with her present.

With a little suspense woven into the plot, we get our breadcrumbs of info from flashbacks that lead us to the reveal. Tenny grows to love Crew and his girls and the family that develops is a sweet one. With some secret steamy moments, this book has it all. A little small-town charm, some sassy kids, an adorable single dad, some ghosts of the past, feelings, and steam.

Miss Brentmoor as always smashes the narration. With multiple voices for all the characters and an ability to put you right in their heads and hearts, this was a fantastic audiobook. Blake did an awesome job too. We really understand Crew’s reservations and insecurities and see him grow and that’s a testament to Blake’s performance.

All in all another great story from Kristy. I loved how she wove all the little details into the plot. It is interesting, it is fun, it is a little feely, and it will keep you turning those proverbial pages.

~ A FEEL-GOOD, SLOW-BURNING ROMANCE ~

This story pulls you into the lives of a damaged hero and a scared heroine who is constantly looking over her shoulder for what she’d done in her past. And this talented author has expertly written and created an instant spark, attraction and friendship between Crew and Tennyson but with a delightful ‘getting to know you’ plot simmer. Which allows their barriers to slowly come down, their feelings to grow, their secrets to spill and their trust to develop which finally binds two damaged hearts whole. There’s two sweet eleven year old tweens who want the very best for their Dad.. and they happen to think Tennyson and her cat are pretty amazing. Excellent narration by Blake and Samantha brings to life the emotional struggles Crew and Tennyson have as they shed their old lives for new ‘small town’ ones and navigate the uncharted waters of new feelings whilst opening-up their Pandora’s box of painful backstories. Crew and Tennyson are warm, supportive, understanding characters caught up in chemistry and character growth they never expected. There’s sizzles, the occasional sex scenes, emotional dilemmas and heartfelt crossroads in both their futures.. as well as, decisions that damage, necessary growth and a humble healing needed for the HEA.

Worth a credit? Yes an enjoyable, low-angst journey with a pinch of pain that created a heartwarming new family.. and second love ❤️.

Small town, single dad romance

First, I gotta say that I've been loving some single dad romances and they may be my current cat nip. There's just something about a man with his kids that melts my heart. And Crew Madden just upped the ante. He not only has one kid, but TWO kids that are twin preteen girls!! Now, that's gotta be hard. But let's get back to the story.

Crew moves him and his two girls, Addy and Paige to a small town after he has a tragic experience on the police force. He needs some down time with his girls. Tennyson is his tenant that lives on his land and she has a secret on why she's living in the small town.

I was immediately intrigued with this possibly being a romantic suspense, but it was just a little side of suspense. I actually wish we got more of Tenny's secret. Her past is sprinkled throughout the story leading up to the end, but that part was actually pretty strong and we could've focused more on that. It played too minor of a part for my liking. I liked that Crew clued into who she was and went with his gut being a police officer and all. But the best parts were when we got Crew, the twins and Tennyson all together. I adored the girls and Crew's love for them. I liked their connection with "Trust Fall" and how it had so much more meaning to them than you know. I may have shed a tear when he shared the meaning with Tennyson.

Of course the reason I love a single dad romance is because of the hero and his kid(s), but having a woman be strong enough to connect with the hero AND the kids makes for that much better of a story. Add in the fact that Tennyson always wanted kids and she became an awesome addition into their family. And the twins thought so too! Just a really good cast of characters.

I decided to listen to this on audio and while I enjoyed the story, I think this book would've been better to physically read. The performances were fine, I just didn't fully feel the connection between the hero and heroine as much as I was hoping

Overall, this was a good story and it appears that it will be the first in the series. While I would've liked to see more suspense, I still enjoyed the feel of the book and cannot wait to catch glimpses of these characters in future books.

Love this single dad romance!

First of all, it bears mentioning that the name Crew DOES THINGS TO ME. And the MMC of this book is worthy of this sexy af name 👌🏻

I’ve never read a book by @kbromberg and after reading this book I’ll definitely scope out some more! Let’s get into what I loved about it—

1. The MMC is a single dad to twin girls! (What can I say, this twin is a sucker for twins in stories, lol) I loved that the girls came off as age appropriate and I adored the way they schemed the romance between their dad and the single lady neighbor/tenant next door.
2. Crew. Gahhhhh. He’s a cop, a good dad who loves his kids, and a romantic at heart. I loved that he had alpha tendencies, but wasn’t overbearing.
3. The mystery behind the MFC definitely had me hooked. We knew she was hiding from her past, but I loved learning all the details as time passed in the book!

As for the narration, this was incredibly easy to listen to! I hadn’t heard Blake Lockheart before, but he embodied Crew really well. And I’m a forever fan of Samantha Brentmoor. Her wide range of character voices is faaaabulous!

If you are looking for a single dad romance with a wee bit of mystery, then this book is a go!
