Summary

When move-in day turns fatal, will facing up to his past prove deadly?

Detective Chief Inspector Harry Grimm has the keys to hope. Excited but nervous over claiming his new house, he’s tying himself even tighter to his adopted community. But he can’t contain his horrified surprise when a mutilated corpse in the lounge makes him the owner of a gruesome crime scene.

With markings on the body showing a disturbing link to his time in Afghanistan, Grimm shivers with alarm as his team discovers the victim’s identity. And when he’s taken off the case, the stoic cop pursues answers on his own out of fear he’s about to be shattered by his bloody past.

Will he hunt down the killer…or is Grimm about to become the prey?

Superb!

What can I say? Another intriguing story of Dales folk and their kin! Plenty of cheese and fruit cake, tea and greasy spotted paper bags! Also a lot of blood and gore, not talking about Black pudding either!
Fascinating to gain more insight into Harry's past and what makes him the man he is now.
Can't wait to see what the next spanner in the works will be for our wonderful team.I
Aubrey Parsons is an integral part of my enjoyment of David J. Gatward's work. Go together like.....yes, cake and cheese!😃

Absolutely Brilliant.

This is an absolutely superb listen, the best Harry Grimm so far in my opinion. There are a few storylines running alongside each other with current and historical occurrences. We learn more about Harry's past and see him making descisions about his future in Wensleydale. The issue of the missing chapter has been sorted out so all is good. Aubrey Parsons narrations just get better and better and his performance in this one can only be described as outstanding.
Cannot recommend highly enough!

Chapter 22 was missing but now it is fixed

The story is great, very intriguing, one of the best I'd say, the narration is good too,

It's a very long and twisty tale of madness and vengeance, and I totally recommend it to any Grimm fan.

an uncomfortable but gripping story

An uncomfortable story but we'll worth the read. It builds on and follows from the previous books in the series and gives us a glimpse into Grimm's life before he became a copper. Fantastic!

The storyline was good

I liked the twists in the story line but found the women's voices irritating and almost comic which for me detracted from the story.

Another good one

Grimm and company search for a vigilante serial killer whose latest victim is found in Harry’s brand new house. I really enjoy this series and look forward to the next one. The narration is excellent, as always.

Outstanding!

This is by far the best Grimm book to date. I just finished it, and I already can’t wait for the next. Aubrey Parson’s’ performance was absolutely incredible. He brought it all to life so vividly I felt I was there. The story was outstanding from beginning to end.

another great book in the series

lots of loose ends were tied up here in this book it still was the great plot line with lots of twists and turns in some ways it seemed like the author was trying to say goodbye ....hopefully it's just hello to a new phase in the characters.... I'm sure there's more stories that Harry Grimm can be a part of, if not in a year or so I'll start to reread them all... hopefully my suspicions are on warranted
