Fantastic tale

I read the reviews for the book before I purchased it, and some were less than favourable. I don’t understand why as I loved this story, it was well written and thoughtful. Don’t listen to the bad reviews- they are a bit like the trolls that the book refers to ironically- people too immersed in the internet with nothing better to do than hate. This is a fantastic tale.

Subtle and gripping

Binge listened to this in one day! Not sure why other reviewers found it confusing. I guess you do have to pay attention to the plot twists but I’m fine with that. I thought it unfolded wonderfully. Kept me intrigued all the way through. Characters were flawed and relatable even in their moments of slight insanity. :)

Brings together themes of celebrity, privacy and modern motherhood in a smart and satisfying story. One of those books that you enjoy unpicking and thinking about afterwards. Would be excellent for book clubs.

Interesting plot

Enjoyed this one but preferred her other 2 books. At times confused as to who’s perspective the story was from. Gripping ending

Boring and Silly Story

I was looking forward to this, but unfortunately was left disappointed. the storyline was a bit all over the place and most of it was silly and unrelatable and not believable, i struggled to keep up with who was who as it just seem to jump from one part to another and skim over parts, I didn't feel involved and I didn't really care what happened next. at some points I listened but actually had no idea what was going on. Didnt get the connection between lily and Yvonne it was like 2 totally separate stories, thrown together, i Listened until the end only because I didn't have another book to listen to, it didnt improve.

Loved it!

The reviews on this intrigued me so I had to listen. I listened to the whole book in a day. Usually I predict the whole plot in a book like this, but not this one!

Confusing

The changing time frames was confusing and none of the characters were particularly likeable. The author used social media to draw out the story but I couldn’t be bothered with it and skipped to the end having worked out what had happened. A good idea but not quite successful

I love a good mystery

..............and this is one of those. Told by multiple narrators and addictive. In this world of social media, such situations must occur but that is the nature of putting oneself out there for the world to adore and criticize at leisure. Rattled along really well, kept my interest and as for the ending - excellent.

Should have been better

This had all the ingedients for a great story but it deflated in the oven I think, started out well but lost impetus and as others have mentioned, the storyline jumping back and forth was a little hard to follow.

The most annoying thing for me was the Australian accent developed by Violet in the later part of the story, when narrated by Alexi Armitage who narrated the Henry parts of the story, Violet was not supposed to be Australian and I'm not certain but am pretty sure that others narrated her voice in parts of the book sans Australian accent, but I could be wrong, I did nod off a few times whilst listening.

I also found it hard to relate to the addiction of the other mothers in this story, addiction to social media is a real problem but I do find it hard to relate to and I don't think this story reflects the real problem.

Took a while to get going but..

Took me a while to get in to the book which was just a collection of stories about obsessive selfish women around the central character, who hardly featured at all until the end.

Pedestrian Mummy book

Mummies May enjoy this book but it found it tedious, unrelatable and lacking a plot

I kept having to skip to avoid the detail that added little
