About this listen

A graveyard feast beneath the summer moon....

The rural town of Old Hickory. Tennessee was a quiet, picturesque community...until the O'Sheas came to town.

Becoming the new proprietors of the town's only funeral parlor, with the help of their charming patriarch, Square McManus, the Irish family was wholeheartedly accepted by the local town folk. The thing began to happen. Strange things...horrible, unspeakable things...in the dead of night.

The sighting of wolfish beasts congregating around an open grave in the town cemetery. Frightening changes in several of Old Hickory's less desirable residents. And the brutal murder and devourment of a varsity football player in the wooded wilderness outside of town. Soon, what was once concealed in shadow and secrecy was now starkly revealed, in all its ravenous fury, by the silvery light of the full moon.

As the residents of Old Hickory, as well as the local police, begin to fall victim to an unknown evil, four individuals - the town nerd, a high school jock, a widowed gunsith, and a mysterious transient from a distant shore - find themselves facing what could possibly be a hellish lycanthrope from ancient Ireland...the legendary Arget Bethir...the Silver Beast.

Excellent Werewolf fiction.

Ronald Kelly has done it again, this is just as good as his vampire novel, Blood Kin. You won't regret buying this audiobook.

Excellent Southern Werewolf Novel

I've only recently discovered the wonderful books of Ronald Kelly. He really is a fantastic writer with stories full of great characters and atmosphere.
Undertaker's Moon is a top tier werewolf tale that is compelling throughout.
J. Rodney Turner's narration is ideal for this type of southern-fried tale. He sounds just like a cowboy, and I think he's the ideal narrator for Kelly's work. It was a pleasure to listen to.
Another brilliant audiobook from Crossroad Press.
Highly recommended.

Undertakers moon

I bought this book on a whim. So glad I did. one of the best books I've purchased. A great story, keeps you enthralled and curious all the way through. loved the narrator.J Rodney Turner and the gravel in his voice he keeps the story rolling along..this is well worth a credit..I'll be looking out from more books from the author and the narrator!!

Good story needed fact checking

I really enjoyed this novel and it's well worth a read. A couple of jarring anomalies near the end can be overlooked. The back story was set in 800s and mentions potato fields. Potatoes didn't arrive in Ireland for another 700 years. Also mentions Shepard's pie with a pastry crust. Shepard's pie can't be made with pastry it has a mashed potato top instead. You shouldn't really add potatoes where there weren't any and then take them away where they should be. Not when you're writing about Ireland.
