About this listen
Waiting. Watching. Unseen by normal eyes, but all too visible to Slim MacKenzie, a young man blessed - or cursed - by Twilight Eyes.
They're out there....
Lurking in the darkest shadows of an eerie, moonlit carnival. Feeding their twisted needs with human suffering - and fiendishly plotting the downfall of the human race.
They're out there....
But don't scream. They'll hear you.

Not one of his best
An interesting story nevertheless though a bit wordy in places. The narrator top notch.

A Good Listen
An early work from this author. While his character development and style have improved with age this remains one of my favourites. The narration is good free me into the story.

Good book
Loved this from years back and this is an excellent version with just the right level of intensity.
Story is strong, well paced and begging for a sequel.

Great.
I remember reading this as a young teen and although the start is a little bit long winded (in my opinion) once the story telling starts in earnest it's a great yarn. Imagination overload.

Better 2nd time around
Having read it at least two decades ago, now that I get blurred vision. I enjoyed it even more listening to it being read to me, it
gripped me totally.

Wonderful imagery
The novel is a perfect blend of strangeness, horror, love and humanity. The narration by Malcolm Hillgartner is nothing short of a joy to hear. Highly recommended book and narrator.

Great thriller,
This is more a gripping thriller than a scary horror story.
The story is about a young man with the ability to see some people in their true form as evil "goblins" in human disguise. He stalks and kills them and takes refuge with other variously gifted misfits. As the goblins begin to recognise him as a threat, he gradually learns of their evil plans for the downfall of humanity. Although hopelessly outnumbered, he must take the war to the goblins...
The plot is imaginative, well paced and in parts very tense. The characters are very convincing and I really found myself caring what happened to them. Highly recommended.

Classic Koontz
This is an older Koontz book, and in some ways feels like a precursor to the Odd Thomas books that he was much more successful with. That is not to take away from this story though, as it is very good, well read and overall enjoyable. The pacing can be a bit off in parts and some of it really doesn't hold up to any scrutiny but that shouldn't stop you enjoying it
