Summary
Born a half-breed to an elven mother and human father, Leesil was raised in the Warlands as an assassin, spy, and slave for Lord Darmouth, ruler of an independent province. But Leesil's mother trained him well, and he used his skills to escape, leaving his parents to suffer Darmouth's wrath for all such traitors and their kin. Now with newfound purpose in the company of his beloved Magiere, Leesil returns to confront the sins of his past and uncover his parents' fate.
Unable to turn him from this dangerous course, Magiere follows Leesil into the darkness of his past in the Warlands. Knowing what may happen should Darmouth learn of Leesil's return, she is prepared to slaughter any who try to take him from her. But Magiere's own past may well pose a more deadly threat. Two creatures of unfathomable power continue to stalk her - one who believes she's the key to his salvation, and one who seeks to destroy her... and all those she loves.

Best Book so far in an already excellent series
What made the experience of listening to Traitor to the Blood the most enjoyable?
the narrator does an excellent job in being consistent throughout the book with tone, pronunciations, etc. The story itself kept me intrigued and when I missed only a few seconds because of a life distraction, I rewound to relisten. You don't want to miss a moment of this book as every sentence is important.
What did you like best about this story?
The strong yet vulnerable Magiere and Leesil, who continue to kick butt while showing emotion to one another
Have you listened to any of Tanya Eby’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Ms. Eby narrated the first two books in this series and she is consistently consistent.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Aunt Beijah's reaction when Magiere returned home. It was written in a way that made you fall in love with Aunt Beijah.
Any additional comments?
This book is very well written, continually adding additional pieces and twists without making it overwhelming. The characters are well developed, without excessive detail. The growing affection between Magiere and Leesil is perfectly told, evidencing the love without all the inner turmoil of does he like me, does she like me ridiculousness. When Magiere showed some fragility, I thought, oh no, not we've lost the strong Magiere that makes this series great. Nope, she was still the butt kicking Magiere that is human in emotion, but doesn't crumble into a falling apart simmering rag. I can't wait to get started on the next story!

Yet another great book
I have been reading the noble dead series for the past two years, this one was my first audible version and I loved it just as much as reading it myself. I can't wait to read the next book or even listen to it. the quality of the reader was very good and I enjoyed listening to her tell the story.
