Healing

As someone who has been in a few relationships that have been very toxic, I found this book very comforting and helpful. Sometimes while in a relationship like that it can be very draining, and you feel like there is no help, but the author did a great job explaining how you can break free from it and the start to heal and get through it.

Amazing

Essential for relationship inventory

“Toxic Relationships” is an essential companion for educating those who are unfamiliar with this interpersonal dynamic. From experience, I know it is often difficult to see one's circumstances from the inside out. More commonly, I found that I had to be on the outside looking in before I could fully absorb how out of control the balance in my romantic relationship had become. “The codependent, often self-sacrificing and eager to please, provides a perfect audience for the narcissist grandiosity.” It took me a long time to realize that I didn’t buy a ticket to this dysfunctional show; I wasn’t required to remain in my seat and endure a lifetime of mistreatment. Any person in a relationship with a narcissist will inevitably see the toxic tendencies surface. They can’t help themselves. If you feel like you are constantly walking around on eggshells and have a loss of identity and self-worth, it may be time to do some relationship inventory. It is not uncommon to feel depressed or anxious. The toxic narcissist wants to be in control, and this book does an excellent job of defining the importance of boundaries. You’ll learn that gaslighting, manipulation, projection, and blame are all weapons you’ll find in a toxic relationship’s arsenal. It is a valuable book for anyone questioning the negative behavioral patterns in their relationship.
