Tinker's Pride" by Nigel Tranter.
A tale of romance and a clash between social classes set in the Western Highlands of Scotland before World War II. Written and introduced by Nigel Tranter. An historical novel of the power of wealth and privilege set against the pride of one man in his native land, and set in the Scottish Highlands. Tinker's Pride is a story of the power of wealth and privilege, set against one man's pride in his native land. Told with an unrivalled understanding of the Scottish Highlands and their people, Nigel Tranter's evocative tale of West Highland life before the Second World War are both compelling and deeply moving. Tinker?s pride is a skillfully written novel. It succeeds in demonstrating that our daily, microcosmic lives contain vastness and fantasy. This book offers its reader a meditation on the private geography of the mind and, through Harding's characters, a glimpse of our own efforts to piece together the broken and mismatched elements of human relationships and existence. I find parts of it remarkably well written, the audio book strikes me as a collection of ideas, I think these better books to spend my time lessen I enjoyed the book very much. This audio book is very good quality sound and language used by narrator is very simple and understandable.
