Summary
Three Rivers is the fourth in a chilling series of audiobooks that will rapidly convert followers of L J Ross, Faith Martin and Helen H Durrant into David Blake devotees.
A body caught on the end of a mast, another skewered by a rhond hook and a chain of evidence Tanner simply cannot accept. As a twisting gale howls its way over Barton Broad, DS Jenny Evans joins a handsome old friend to help rescue the crew of an overturned boat. But when they discover a body, snagged on the end of the mast, one murder soon follows another, leaving DI John Tanner facing a race against time, desperate to prove that the most obvious suspect isn’t who everyone seems to think it is.

Another cracker!
In this book Tanner has to fight to solve a series of murders where someone is trying to frame his partner, DS Jenny Evans.
The setting is fantastic, the action is fast and the characters are so well drawn. I love the relationship between Tanner and Evans. I love the way they bicker, and how they are both jealous if anyone else so much as glances at the other. It all feels very real.
I just love this series, and have caught up now and am impatiently waiting for the next. David Blake is very underrated as an author and these books need to be read/listened to by more people.
My most favourite narrator, Jonathan Keeble, narrates these books and does an amazing job in building up the tension. Highly recommended.

"All the girls knew James."
The fourth book in the DI Tanner and DS Jenny Evans detective series set in Norfolk, Three Rivers is more than just a murder mystery, it also follows the ongoing relationship between the couple and the impact that their personal lives has on their work relationship, and vice versa. Whilst the mystery storyline itself is initially intriguing, despite the culprit being rather obvious, it does feel unlikely. But the personal interplay between Tanned and Evans, though emotionally somewhat immature, does hold a sense of distinct possibility and was fun to observe as an outsider. The vicarious sightseeing of Norfolk, too, brings pleasure to the reading.
Narration by Jonathan Keeble was, as always, superb, perfectly paced with just the right infusion of emotion, good, expressive modulation and individually identifiable voices for each protagonist.
This is an easy, enjoyab!e and undemanding book, probably best read in series sequence but still stand alone. Recommended for anyone enjoying location based, character centred police procedurals

A policeman's is not easy
Interesting story particularly if you know the area, this is all about finding a murderer who is leading the police in many directions at the same time, Interesting how it plays out with a few shocks along the way.
