Jason and Eileen!

Jason is wealthy, successful and appears to have it all however he has been burnt by love in the past so now he prefers to keep his heart guarded. Not only does he find himself helping to arrange his cousins wedding, but he has to help pay for it as well. The only bright spot is the time he gets to spend with the bride’s sister Eileen.

Eileen is used to always being an afterthought in her family compared to her sister but that doesn’t make it any easier. She has now been coerced by her family to help with the arrangements and the finances as once again she has to be the responsible one.

Jason and Eileen become friends as they work together to ensure that the wedding proceeds without a hitch which is no easy feat with all the chaos that surrounds them. Their friendship develops into something much deeper but is it because of the wedding or the start of something much more?

Fun and flirty I really enjoyed Jason and Eileen together. They are both so supportive of everyone in their lives it was great to see them get the happiness they deserve. I enjoyed the performance of the narrators as they brought out all the mixed feelings they were experiencing and the tangible connection between them.

Come on Eileen

Eileen's family suck! They never put her first, or even second, they expect Eileen to fix everything and she lives in the shadow of her sister Charlie who is a total mess and is never expected to deal with the chaos and hurt she causes.

Jason used to believe in love but he was left broken when the love of his life left him standing at the alter on his wedding day. After being jilted he has become a cynic who has vowed never to risk his heart again. No settling down, only random hookups from now on. He's a nice guy underneath it all, he loves his family but doesn't want to risk his heart again.

When Charlie announces that she's pregnant by Jason's cousin Marek and that they will be getting married in less than a month, on Eileen's birthday no less, it's left to Eileen and Jason to plan and pay for everything demanded by Bridezilla Charlie. Charlie has unrealistic demands but through all the madness thrown at them by Charlie as well as Eileen's family, they discover they have a lot in common. They quickly become friends but could there be something more for them than friendship? Then they cross the line and go where neither feels they should.....

Is there a way for them to work things out? Can they have it all? Will Eileen finally stand up for herself against the family from hell? Will Jason risk his heart again?

The narration of this book by Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder is excellent, they performed this book so well and gave life to all the characters.

Jason & Eileen!

Jason and Eileen. These two are so fun to get to know as the Spearman Family series continues. Jason is quite a man. Willing to help out his needy cousin Marek, he agrees to help out with his shotgun wedding. Yes, it needs to be now, so any help is welcomed. Marek's bride to be is impossible to deal with. Always the favorite in her home growing up, she is a brat to say the least. When it comes to the wedding, her sister Eileen is expected to plan it, give up her special day and enjoy the process. How can that possible happen? Eileen and Jason gear up together as the wedding is planned, total opposites, but definite chemistry. I absolutely loved these two as the disasters came and the solutions to fix them. They worked well together, talked things out and the heat between them grew. This is a fun filled story packed with passion and bridezilla drama! A great addition to the series.

And making it even better? Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder are the narrators. These two work so well together, creating a world that is easy to escape into. Clarke is the consummate problem solver as Jason, adding in the romantic side to win Eileen. Wilder pops are Eileen, a bit frazzled, and very passionate. I love these two together, they always provide hours of entertainment and this one is fantastic!

Fantastic Story & Listen🎧 An Enthralling RomCom!

Claudia Burgoa penned another winner of a novel set in her “Spearman Family” series, a fabulous romantic comedy that will captivate your attention, tug on your heartstrings and have you gaining ear to ear, too. I adored the two lead characters, Jason Spearman and Eileen McBean, brought together by some unusual circumstances to help coordinate a shotgun wedding for her irresponsible sister Charlie and his equally irresponsible cousin, Marek. Jason, who is well off, agreed to foot the bill for it, though Eileen does not want him to go overboard despite her demanding, turned Bridezilla, sister. As much as I adored the two lead characters I despised how Eileen’s parents and sister treated her, like a doormat and I was not a fan that Eileen enabled them to, she had her reasons though and that aspect of her life worked out in the end and her sister redeems herself too. Thankfully, the McBean antics did not take away from the best part of this story, Jason and Eileen’s story. It was great to watch these two get to know each other as they worked together to make the wedding happen. Jason was a great sounding board, was easygoing and just went along with it everything, put out fires when needed and saved the day several times too. I thought the two were perfect together and for each other, I was secretly hoping it would be their wedding in the end and not Charlie and Marek, but Jason had a thing about weddings as you will see. Though a lot happen on that wedding day and it was all good, especially for Eileen, and it would be the last time any of them stole her thunder ever again. I loved how everything played out in his book, it is a wonderfully plotted story with the perfect balance of drama, humor and witty dialogue, just a touch of angst, lots of heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, but so worth the wait, romance. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride. Thanks for the blast in the past too, I am still humming “Come on Eileen”.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Claudia Burgoa always casts the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. The mega talented Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder did a fabulous job portraying these characters and did so with a complete understanding of who they were and gave them voices that suited them perfectly. I loved how they took each role, ran with it and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I pictured that character would sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue effortlessly and landed the humor naturally. They also captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance, making you feel every single one. These entertaining storytellers are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing.
