The Dark End of the Street is a television program that pries into the business of Barry and Cheryl Higgins and their three small children, uncovering every nasty aspect of their lives on welfare in front of a fascinated and disgusted audience. The couple didn’t get rich off the wildly successful reality show, though, so why would anyone want to kidnap the kids? When the two older children are found, there is little doubt that Cheryl planned their disappearance to win the public’s affection and boost the show’s ratings. As the media and the legal system condemn Cheryl, one question remains: Where is baby Cara?

Superb Book, Really Enjoyable
What a fantastic listen. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a great story, beautifully presented by the narrater, and very entertaining.

Never ending…
I actually said “thank god for that”when this ended. It was far too drawn out and became boring. Loved the first couple hours but then it went on and on and on.

Sadly realistic
I think this demonstrates how some media can misuse and interpret a story to the detriment of others . It was a unique story though and narrated well

Just gets better
Felt a bit long winded and repetitive by about half way through but worth persevering, not as predictable as you'd think, keeps you wondering and there's a few surprises. Interesting insight into the topic of reality shows. A good listen all in

A story of modern life
I really enjoyed this. It really gets you thinking about the effects of how reality shows affect people’s actions and thoughts. Well written and read. One of those stories that linger in your memory long after reading!
