Story
Sometimes things are more ordinary than you think. And sometimes they're a whole lot odder than you can possibly imagine.
Rebecca Front has always drawn on experiences from her life in her award-winning acting and comic writing. In her debut book, she reveals herself as a master storyteller: sharp, witty, honest, and highly attuned to the absurdities of life and the oddities of human nature. By turns poignant, comic, and uplifting, Curious is a book of stories, all of them true, though sometimes perhaps a little bent out of shape in the telling.

Sadly disappointed.
Having read and enjoyed other Pauline McLynn audio books, I did not enjoy this one nearly so much.
The story line is fine,
Professionally delivered, but somehow it was here it lacked 'spark' Listened to the story twice, but still had the feeling of it having had something missing.
I would urge you to listen to the preview. As appreciation of delivery is such a personal thing.

funny, witty, with insider's glimpses into acting
Wayyy better than the bare chick-lit plot outlined in the publisher's summary. In the best tradition of witty British humor, with wry observations on modern life, packed with juicy little character studies featuring people in the theater industry. I listened again and again and found more to chuckle over with each new hearing. Made me go looking for more by McLynn. Great narration adds to the enjoyment.

Funny & easy to relate to, but the plot is abrupt
I thought the story was good, and the main character was very real. The problem I had was that the plot was very disjointed and the end was very abrupt and unconnected. Some very good plot lines are started - the son in a troubling situation, the mom in life crisis - etc. However, its almost as if the author had a limit on the number of pages and decided to suddenly "wrap everything up" in the last chapter. I felt like I was missing about 5 chapters in the middle. I'll give the author another shot - because I like the style. But, if it follows the same pattern at ending, I'll be done.
