Summary
London, 1954. Young theatre nurse Clare Maitland makes a life-changing move after Dr. Bill Blake suddenly ends their engagement. Can she find love and happiness again in the Scottish Highlands?
"Arguably the best of all writers of hospital fiction." (Nursing Times)
Clare is devastated when her fiancé calls off their dream wedding because he wants to marry someone else.
Her friendship with charming surgeon Andrew Darvie provides comfort, but is it enough to mend a broken heart?
Meanwhile, Clare's feelings are hurt by the harsh comments of moody but talented Dr. Hugh Sanders. She can't understand his cool attitude toward her.
The chance of a nursing job in Scotland seems the answer to all of Clare's problems. But she soon discovers that escaping the men in her life won't be as easy as she imagined.
A heartwarming hospital romance about the life and loves of a young nurse in the 1950s.

disappointing
i usually like a love story for a change but this was boring uneventful and corny.
The narrator was awful at the Scottish accents.
I spent the whole book waiting for something to happen.
