Summary

SUNDAY TIMES NUMBER ONE BESTSELLER

The brilliant and provocative new book from one of the world’s foremost political writers

‘The anti-Western revisionists have been out in force in recent years. It is high time that we revise them in turn…’

In The War on the West, international bestselling author Douglas Murray asks: if the history of humankind is one of slavery, conquest, prejudice, genocide and exploitation, why are only Western nations taking the blame for it?

It’s become perfectly acceptable to celebrate the contributions of non-Western cultures, but discussing their flaws and crimes is called hate speech. What’s more it has become acceptable to discuss the flaws and crimes of Western culture, but celebrating their contributions is also called hate speech. Some of this is a much-needed reckoning; however, some is part of a larger international attack on reason, democracy, science, progress and the citizens of the West by dishonest scholars, hatemongers, hostile nations and human-rights abusers hoping to distract from their ongoing villainy.

In The War on the West, Douglas Murray shows the ways in which many well-meaning people have been lured into polarisation by lies, and shows how far the world’s most crucial political debates have been hijacked across Europe and America. Propelled by an incisive deconstruction of inconsistent arguments and hypocritical activism, The War on the West is an essential and urgent polemic that cements Murray’s status as one of the world’s foremost political writers.

“Luck is a product of design”.

Douglas’ arguments and conclusions are excellently researched and stylishly presented as ever.

Yet again he picks apart the assertions of the modern day detractors of all we hold dear in The West.
I always knew that western society have always had to contend with an enemy within working against it. Douglas really drives home just how serious this ‘omnipresent and myopic hatred’ from the modern left actually is and just how convenient this is to our enemies in the CCP.

Brilliant reminder of the achievements of the West

Douglas Murray has done a brilliant job of cataloguing all the great things about the West that made people like me to emigrate to the West.

Another outstanding book by Douglas Murray

This is a truly outstanding book and full of uncomfortable truths for the hypocritical tyrants trying to destroy western culture and erase our history.
for those of us who haven't been parasitised by their dogma, it offers a way to reset and turn the tide.
Please share widely.

Important but scary

This book will help to argue against the leftist insanity that has taken over academia. Consider it a lot of evidence why we western Europeans do not have any moral obligation to hate ourselves. Learn to stand up to the disgusting onslaught of the left against decency.

Essential reading to every European and American citizen.

Probably one of the most important books written about the messy era of culture wars.

Excellent work yet again.

Simply outstanding

This was so well verbalise and written and the arguments very clear. It restores a sense of hope in all the madness and fear. The conclusion is brilliant. Multiple times I wanted to post a comment where it offered me insight. But of course one just listens and smiles. It is clear that in all the madness currently occurring, there is one beneficiary, and I will leave that as a potential whisper on my lips - perhaps the same thought is in your head and you can hear my thoughts, dear reader.

Truly magnificent

I won't go into a long winded review, many have written far more eloquently than I could on the subject matter. Suffice to say, Douglas Murray's command of the English language and wonderful delivery of his words make listening to this book a joy. Murray really gets to the heart of so many issues we face in western society and steamrolls over subjects most of us would be inclined to keep quiet about today.

I would highly recommend reading this book, better still, get it on Audible and listen to Douglas read it to you
