Summary

Can one family save a world?

Daniel Clay fought across the galaxy as a corporate soldier. He left the violence behind for a life of science, raising a family far from the bloodshed of the Corporation. With his wife, Sarah, and son, Michael, he studied the alien Tyr for years, hidden among their complex societies. Their mission should have ended with the arrival of a replacement team. Instead, the Clays’ corporate overlords choose a death sentence: an invasion fleet to conquer the Tyr.

This first contact will destroy the Tyr, and only Daniel Clay and his family can help fight back against the drug-fueled conscripts and military might of the invaders. The Clays must help the Tyr from the shadows or be killed by the Tyr who fear them...or by the Corporation they’ve betrayed.

But the Clays aren’t the only hidden power.

If you like Avatar or V, you’ll love The Tyr Trilogy, a series that combines the wonder, excitement, and drama of top-notch sci-fi.

Brought to the audio realm by none other than award-winning voice artist R.C. Bray.

Enjoyable start to the series.

There's nothing really new to the story but it's well written and there's just about enough of a uniqueness to keep me interested. The story pacing led me to become invested in some of the characters quite early on which rarely happens for me in this genre.

Narration was as expected top notch, looking forward to the one.

Not my favorite.

Hey I like R C Bray as a narrator but sometimes even the best can't fix a story. To me there was some action but it still felt slow and some of the natives actions just hard to accept. Sorry yall it just didn't pull me in.

A Very interesting take on the several themes.

Corrupt Corporate greed?
check

Alien Invasions?
check

A twisting , multi sided plot, following different characters and seeing the story unfold from different points.
check

Humanity kicking alien Ass!?
uh... not in the way you think.

so take all these themes and flip them around.
WE are the bad guys. Humanity. Pushed by Corporate overlords seeking to pad the bottom line invading and colonizing world's with our super advanced technology, drugged up, psycho, super soldiers, and having absolute disregard for indigenous life all to sell the planet to some faction willing to pay absurb credits to have their own planet.

Enter the Tyr, a sentient avian humanoid race that is basicly at a 1990's tech level and now having to face us, the evil Humans, as their planet is targeted for the next big corporate pay day.

it's a very interesting listen and I highly recommend it for those of you looking for a new series to follow. I know I'll be getting the next book once it's out.

Campy enough to root for the aliens!

Think of space invaders ruled by inter-galactic corporations and obsessed with bottom-line numbers and populating other planets by any means possible. With the moral compass of the martians of War of the World and just enough campiness to keep a listener grimacing one moment and chuckling the next, local bacteria nor country music will fell these invaders. For this time, the invaders are us!

A whole lot to like about this book with nary a thing to dislike; other than the delay until the next book in the series becomes available.

Author Richard Fox and narrator R.C. Bray combine to make this a hard-to-press-pause listening experience.

Very solid, almost missed it.

Almost missed this one because apparently I have a bias against almost-human alien species. Being a huge fan of Star Trek you wouldn't think that would be the case, but it is. Was hooked by the corporate dystopia that this story heavily implies, luckily, and got hooked on a new series. I've listened to Expeditionary Force and to Omega Force series (multiple times, actually), and though I solidly believe (at the moment, having only listened to the first book in this series) that they are better than this - this comes close, and close to them is damn good.

RC Bray, yet again, deals his own heaping share of quality narration. I hope he doesn't get tired of this anytime soon.

my only criticism is a mild one about the story- a tiny bit more character building would help to distinguish between the different isolated storylines, but as I said; very mild criticism. All in all a great book, expertly written and performed-well worth your time.

Avatar with a kinda twist.. kinda

Story was slow and at times hard to follow this just didn’t feel fully developed. I like lots of Richard fox’s books but don’t see my self investing further in this series

Non stop action

This book was one of the best audio books I’ve listened to. The book was quick to jump into the story without a long prelude and character development. Never boring. Always kept my attention.

Honestly loved this.

Bray kills it again as I'm sure no one is surprised.

The story is a little far-fetched at times but in a good way. Really enjoying the opposite side of the typical alien invasion story!
