About this listen
Would you travel the world with a perfect stranger? Fasten your seat belts for an emotional journey filled with humor and adventure. Bachelor and newscaster Pete McCarney buys two plane tickets for a trip around the world with his girlfriend, but they split up shortly before the trip, and he can't get a refund. In a gutsy last-minute move, Pete goes on social media asking for women with his girlfriend's exact name to join him on the trip. Twenty-one women apply, and the ensuing interview process is both awkward and hilarious. When he finally chooses a feisty, headstrong, recently-divorced lawyer, he has no idea what to expect from their worldwide adventures - and neither does Allie James. She has pretty much sworn off men since her divorce. Will either of them get the vacation they were so desperately hoping for?
Contains mature themes.

Lighthearted fantasy
Great idea, somewhat cliched characters but amusing enough with a bit of drama to give it some backbone. Some problems with time zones and perhaps the female narrator sounded a little young and giddy for a supposed 42.

Just the ticket
This isn’t my usual genre, but I so enjoyed travelling the world with Ali and Pete! It’s a warm hug of a story that really made me smile.

ok
this is a story about travel apparently so I expected a lot more scenes from the holiday. There were few. the novel attempts to deal with some real life themes like divorce and cancer which is great but I felt they were a bit rushed. didn't do them justice

Horrible accents.
The female narrator has the worst accent ever. Could they not find someone else that could actually do an Irish accent and an American one? How hard could it have been. Story was ok if not a bit predictable but boy did the accents grate on the senses. Do not listen if you have ever heard a proper Irish accent and you will never be able to unlisten to this book.

Strange story. One excellent narrator, one abysmal narrator
Mmm. Strange story. It never really took off for me. Loved the male narrator but the female one was abysmal! Droning on and on in a monotone. Her attempt at an Irish accent was an embarrassment!
