Summary
Criminals are getting rich.
Terrorists are getting powerful.
Women are getting killed...and worse.
Hiram Kane travels to India to honour the life of his murdered best friend. But Kane's world is soon plunged into turmoil when a psychotic people trafficker kidnaps Alexandria Ridley, the love of his life, and disappears into the mighty Himalayas. What begins as a risky rescue mission turns into a chilling foray into the world of weapons and drugs trading, sexual slavery and human trafficking - and culminates in a deadly race against time across the top of the world into Chinese-occupied Tibet.
With lives on the line and the future of Buddhism in jeopardy, must Kane make the ultimate sacrifice?
The Shadow of Kailash is Book 4 of Steven Moore’s best-selling Hiram Kane international action thriller series, and is perfect for fans of Russell Blake and Clive Cussler.

Excellent Adventure Story
When Hiram Kane journeys to India , after the murder of his best friend, he and his love interest Alex get involved with a group rescuing refugees from Chinese controlled Tibet.
What seems like a worthy humanitarian project is soon revealed to be a cover for drug and slave traffickers which leads to Alex’s kidnapping and a desperate race for life within the foothills and caves of the mighty Himalayas
This is book 4 in the Hiram Kane series and follows on from the thrilling events in The Condor Prophecy.
With a cast of colourful characters and a plot that races along this was a highly enjoyable ‘Indiana Jones’ style adventure thriller that twists and turns until the explosive finale

Baskerville Book Reviews
The Shadow of Kailash suffers from a few of the same issues as The Condor Prophecy. It’s incredibly slow to get started, which is annoying. I mean painfully slow, even at 2.55x speed. The next big issue returns with the narration. The narrator continues to do a different voice for the protagonist internally and externally, which can be jarring. The final annoyance for me is when the author blatantly states what’s going to happen before the scenes take place.
Despite those complaints, this is the second book in this series I can say I enjoyed. It took time to get established, unlike The Samurai Code and it didn’t drag on long after what felt like the conclusion, which The Condor Prophecy did. I would call this story exciting if it wasn’t so slow. It’s compelling, interesting, brings up relevant issues with the global economy and Tibet. It’s an all-around, enjoyable story to read (or listen to, in my case).
Aside from the aforementioned complaints with the narrator, I enjoyed his performance quite a lot. He does an excellent job with voices, accents, narration overall, and from what I can tell, languages. He’s easily one of the better audiobook narrators that I’ve heard.

Another great book
First class story. Steven has a great mind for creating these adventures. And the morals and ethics over religion, science, and history are great theme to this series. Looking forward to book 6. Narrator is amazing too.

Fantastic twists and turns!!!
Enjoyed this last book. It honestly kept me wondering what will happen next. It was an easy and exciting listen. Loved that Alex was a bit more of a main character here.

An adventurous trek to save the opposed
Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this as an honest review. Narrated beautifully by Kenneth Bryant, this adventure finds Hiram and his friend Alex honoring the death of friend lost in a previous harrowing trek with no intention of playing hero of any sort. Yet, danger always follows and Hiram can't stop being who he is and helping those in dire need is what he does. It starts very innocently as they get involved in rescuing opposed Tibetans by China into India that will brilliantly twists into a haunting trek into the Himalayas to chase down sex traffickers and the group of young women they plan to trade for guns and drugs. Packed with intense fights, snarky dialogue and a gorgeous setting, once again Hiram takes you another wickedly awesome memorable journey. Highly recommended.

Great Mystery Thriller Series!
The Shadow of Kailash by Steven Moore is part of the Hiram Kane series.
This is a great detective mystery series with lots of action. This has been my favorite so far and I loved that it had a bit of an Indiana Jones vibe to the story!
The audio narration is well done and enjoyable to listen to.

I absolutely adore Steven Moore's Adventure Stories!
Hyram Kane is an Awesome protagonist and along with his sidekick Alex Ridley they find themselves in the Most Exotic
Locales !! There is always something just around the corner waiting for them!!
Each Book can be a stand alone, but the series is most intriguing !!

An outstanding edge-of-your-seat read
The Shadow of Kailash: A Hiram Kane Action Thriller (The Hiram Kane Adventure Series Book 4), my fifth read from author Steven Moore. Reminiscent of author Dan Brown & (James) Rollinsesque in the action that never lets up until the end. Well-written action-thriller, with well-developed characters. Narrator Kenneth Bryant's accented narration made this re-read so very enjoyable! "I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." With every book written Moore gets better & better. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Excellent
Having been to Tibet, the beauty is amazing, the Tibetan temples. The other side is the chinese influence that was seen and felt, as the author has shown. The harsh reality of the Himalayas mountains, are a pilgrim for many with the many prayer flags. For Kane the love of his life has been taken and the mountains that separate them With that we see the other side and what he faces to get her back.a powerful story of love. The narration by Kenneth was great.

No visit to India or China in my future
After listening to this book I no longer desire to travel to either India or China. Since my childhood I cherished a deep seated desire to travel to China. Well I finally have outgrown that desire. India is a very poor country and China is very cruel. It is doubtful that I need to worry about being kidnapped and sold for my sexual favors (I'm neither young or beautiful) but that and the problems of child beggars and poverty captured Hiram's interest. These are the things that will hold your interest too and if you are like me, you'll want to bash the bad guy over the head with a rock.

A good treatment of some of today's real issues!
Moore does a nice job in this edition of his Hiram Kane series of dealing with several social and moral issues. Smuggling of drugs and weapons along with the nasty business of human trafficking are handled nicely. He also weaves in the moral dilemma of "do the ends justify the means" while treating those subjects. Well done Steven!
