About this listen

The Fates are cackling their bony asses off...

It's been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs they've given him have been violent and bloody - which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth: He has to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most challenging yet.

Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy's deal might be, but it's a good bet that his arrival means that the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of ancient myth is gunning for her.

Critic reviews

"Armentrout dives deep into the psyches of both hero and heroine, deftly switching from one point of view to another, while creating a drum-tight sense of suspense and sexual tension from the first page to the last." ( Publishers Weekly)

It’s fabulous to see what becomes of Seth and I’m loving the prospects of an outcome to this character. The early part of the book does feel very similar to Seth’s story with
Alex. It’s still a fantastical progression of the Olympian / Apollyon world and well worth the read or listen. Since I listen more than I read I’ll add that the performance is also fab with this series!

Love love love the theme but it feels like a repeat!

I adore this book. Seth is an all time favourite character he’s such a sarcastic bitch at times 😂. I have listened to the series a few times now and will continue to reread/ listen.

Love it!

Loved the first covenant series and this is starting out to be just as good if not better

A brilliantly written sequel

I don’t understand this choice of inter-changing narrator, not a big fan of the decision. But at least choose someone who doesn’t sound like Count Dracula. I sometimes feel like Seth is actually a Middle Eastern barber. I really hate it, breaks the illusion of the book.

Worst choice of male narrator

I had just finished the 2 previous books in this series and then in this book there are 2 narrators. I did not like the male voice as it changed voices that I had got used to in the 2 previous books. Confusing. The female reader is brilliant. Story is great tho. Thanks

Different narrators

I enjoyed listening to this book. It was interesting the whole way through. Personally, I preferred the female Narrators voice for Seth, she makes him sound as sexy as he’s supposed to be whereas the male Narrator wasn’t sexy at all, more matter of fact. All in all though a really good story to listen too.

A Really Good Listen

Despite being narrated by the big man Gru, this was actually quite good. The female narrator was good, and she added a sexy accent to her portrayal of Seth.

The story was nothing new, another round of Percy Jackson, with a lot of sexual tension and most surprisingly, loads of laugh out loud moments.

would I be disappointed if I'd used a credit on this? Yes! but it was free, and a fun little listen. Am I in a hurry to read the rest of the series? Eh, No!

Gru from despicable me reads Percy Jackson!

I couldn’t get my head around why these narrators were chosen. The female narrator sounds as though every last word in a sentence is painful to get out and I can’t even begin to describe the male narration. He doesn’t connect at all to the character. Picks up his cadence at all the wrong times. I can’t finish this book. Shame. I’ve started avoiding books with Paul narrating. Will do so with the female narrator too.

Awful Narration

I decided to listen to this series (and the covenant series before this) from start to finish once again. Like many of JLA’s books/series I love this and can reread them over again. Excellent books and would recommend this author and this series.

Love this series

I loved this story, once again every chapter made you want to read on the the next. It was hard to pause it. The narrators were great although the accents were a little dodgy sometimes. I can't wait for the next book.

Another sensational book from Jennifer L Armentrou
