Summary

True stories of life and death from a New Zealand pathologist

From the number one best-selling author of The Cause of Death comes an audiobook about the unlikely, extraordinary, obscure and often tragic ways humans meet their end.

A dead body without a trace of trauma; alien parasites; worms of the brain; crocodile attacks and bizarre eating disorders....In The Quick and the Dead, pathologist and self-confessed death-aficionado Dr. Cynric Temple-Camp takes listeners into a world of disease and death as he seeks answers for those who were unlucky, and those still alive to tell the tale.

Must read / listen

Great book from a knowledgeable pathologist. Narration is also good. Fascinating hearing the stories from Africa and New Zealand

Volume too low

the actual content of this audiobook was great. But the whole thing was just far too quiet.

Bit of a muddle..

This seems to be a wee bit all over the place or maybe it’s not downloaded properly. Anyhow it’s not like other books I’ve listened to surrounding the life of a pathologist…it’s different somehow, not gripping me and Im losing concentration with it but will soldier on till the end and edit my review if gets better. Bought as a BOGOF…came as the freebie

Fascinating!

Narration was good.
The book is fascinating and really shows the humanity of the author. No bragging about how good he is at his job, just an honest set of reflective accounts. A very good book indeed
