Intrigued? Amazed? Bored rigid.

As if Mollie Weir was narrating a Ladybird book on ‘being a doctor’. Nothing to learn here about forensic psychiatry. Absolute waste of time.

I wish I hadn’t purchased this

Annoyingly, more of a memoir than is suggested by the title. It all felt a bit too lighthearted - not what I was expecting. £7.99 down the drain.

Great book, couldn’t put it down

Really interesting account of a forensic psychiatrist’s working life in Scotland, a few chuckles and had me nearly in tears at one point. Well worth the listen

Beautiful memoir

A beautifully written memoir by a woman who has lived such an interesting and fulfilled life. I was in tears by the end. Thought-provoking and honest, this book was brilliant.

I was looking forward to this

I don’t like to post a poor review but Audible won’t let me return this title so I’m feeling churlish.

I was hoping for something a rooted a bit more in the nuts and bolts of her work. As nice a story as it is, I didn’t buy this to hear about her sister or her 2 children.

more tales of forensic psychology...?

Was an ok read. Not badly narrated but there's an awful lot of personal family life background that seems to overwhelm what I'd hoped would be more anecdotes relating to forensic psychology solely.

Should have Memoirs in the title!

First of all I loved hearing the gentle Scottish lilt of Rhona Morrison and she has a calming effect.

I would say I thought this would have a lot more stories about the patients and types of work rather than personal life story too. Not that it's not enjoyable to read, I thought it was a little misleading as this isn't the first forensic psychiatrist audible I've listened too and they were more case based.

Saying that I did enjoy hearing about her life and family but it went back and forth so sometimes she was in training and other times she was in several high positions.

What I did get was that Rhona is a very special lady who was made for this role. She comes across as non-judgemental, happy to go against the grain for the safety and well being of her patients. She has managed to talk about some of the worst mental illness and the people society look down on and still have empathy.

I could see that she loved her job and she handles some more alarming situations very professionally and was still willing to see the same patient even after inappropriate behaviour.

For me personally I would love to hear more about her patients and cases. She seems to have cut some of the stories just short and without reason, bit odd but it wasn't a massive issue. I was done by chapter 33 onwards, it became more of a needing to finishing the book rather than getting so involved it's over before you know it. I enjoyed the stories and I'm glad we have gems like Rhona in this world.

Stunningly Good Book

It’s few books that will move you to laughter, fascination and tears. Rhonda sounds as though she is someone that anyone would be honoured to know. It’s filled with love and her compassion as a doctor but more importantly a person shines from every page.

I have sat and devoured the book in one sitting and loved every page

Great stories, told beautifully!

So super excited to finally listen to this book.
The stories are fascinating and Rhona is brilliant at setting the scene and conveying her experiences.

Plenty of laughs, jaw drop moments and tears!

I don’t think I will ever read RSVP the same again though, without thinking of this book.

Well worth a read/ listen!

Brilliant Book

I loved listening to this book, Rhona has a lovely Scottish accent that is so easy to listen too. The stories are absorbing and very entertaining, for want of another word given the sadness behind some of them.

Rhona tells the stories of criminals, patients and various other characters so sympathetically and realistically that you feel as if you were in the room.

I highly recommend this audiobook.
