A huge help to my post-founder career

I'm a SaaS co founder CEO, beginning to think about my next career steps. Adam Coffey's book is both practical and inspiring to read if you're a founder with tons of relevant experience, but not enough cash in bank (or enough hobbies ;) to retire yet

Too generic for my liking

When I bought this, I was hoping for a deep dive into concepts, perhaps case studies, and an overall very informative, educational book.

I would see the truthful headline as more of a “Should you consider a career in private equity”

Annoying

Incredibly frustrating how the recording and the chapter menu do not match up. The narrator is saying Chapter 1, while the menu says Chapter 4. Really basic stuff that is beyond annoying. A PDF of the contents page of the book would also be helpful.

The book itself is interesting and a useful overview.

Beyond basic

Beyond basic ... unless one is a true entry level person, I am not sure if this is worth the few hours of listening/reading.

Good overview

Good content n narration. The author has provided good background to PE, then how the game can be played to leverage on them.

Excellent Book

The Private Equity Playbook is an excellent book that provides valuable insight into how to transition from a Fortune 500 executive to a CEO of a PE owned company. The book is very informative with insights into PE expectations, terminology and how to manage and operate in a PE owned company. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is selling a company to a PE company or coming into a PE owned company from a larger corporate environment.

Best Introduction to the PE World

I left the corporate world this year to start an IT consultancy advising PE firms and their portfolio companies. After reading countless articles and listening to many podcasts, I still did not have the language to translate my experience in the corporate M&A world to the world of private equity. Adam's book gave me what I needed to confidently introduce my services to the PE market. Started a second read through already!

Good intrduction!

As an engineer without an MBA I had to go through this book slowly. While only a primer, it opened my eyes to PE and I am hooked. Starting the book over for a second time. Yes, it is that good.

Extremely Informative and Engaging!! It’s worth it!!

Wow I really like this content and reader! I’ve learned a lot about private equity backed companies, why to sale them, why to be apart of upper management, and also, what mindset to have when as apart of the upper management team! I have hopes of getting involved in private equity and this book has generated more hopes!

Thanks Adam Coffee for sharing your experiences!

Average book. Lower value than expected

This book is ok if you don’t know anything about PE. But it’s too short and really doesn’t cover any details about deals, structure etc. I guess I benefited from it but not as much as the price. Low value
