Summary

"Mrs. Cass, we were hoping your son could answer a few questions about the girl who disappeared last night...."

Erika Cass has a perfect family and a perfect life. Until the evening when two detectives show up at her front door.

A high school girl has vanished from Erika's quiet suburban neighborhood. The police suspect the worst - murder. And Erika's teenage son, Liam, was the last person to see the girl alive.

Erika has always sensed something dark and disturbed in her seemingly perfect older child. She wants to believe he's innocent, but as the evidence mounts, she can't deny the truth - Liam may have done the unthinkable.

Now she must ask herself: How far will she go to protect her son?

The worst narrator I’ve ever heard! Sounds like robot/ Alexa talking..

I had to persevere until the end to see if the ending was good but it wasn’t.. tried hard to have twisted ending but it’s just not realistic at all..
the overall idea might be good if the author wasn’t trying to twist the ending..
Poor choice of narrator.. you may as well replace it with Alexa to read the book..

Enjoyed!

I enjoyed this! Some parts didn’t make loads of sense though but there were good twists and enjoyed the book in general!

Excellent listen

I am ridiculously picky when it comes to audiobooks. If it doesn’t catch me within the first two minutes I’m not interested. This is one that definitely peeked my interest from the beginning. Nice little unexpected twist at the end. I also never usually listen to the last three or four minutes of a book. I finished this one out entirely :-)

Enjoyable listen!

I absolutely love her writing! Very enjoyable to listen to. Great narration. The ending was predictable hence 4 instead of 5 stars.

The Perfect Son

Interesting storyline with a few cleverly woven twists (most of which I didn't see coming). The teenage girl voice that the female narrator did was more like a little girl voice and was somewhat annoying. But otherwise, both narrators did a decent job. Overall, another solid offering by Freida McFadden!

Entertaining

My sister and I listened to this on a very long road trip. We both like a good story, but neither of us had the ending pegged. We loved it, and it made our trip much more enjoyable!

Very easy to follow, engaging and quick read

Both narrators did a great job. I finished in 2 days. I think this book and the Housemaid are my favorites. I enjoyed The Ex, but found it difficult to follow. the characters in this story were all well developed.

Great family thriller

Enjoyed the narration and story was very good. Keeps in line with McFaddens stories. Twists and turns till the very end.

TERRIBLE NARRATOR

this is another book with so much potential but the narrator ruined it. So robotic and phony.
Read this book. Do not listen, trust me.

Psychological Thriller

Great story that kept me guessing until the end. You think you know the answers, but you dont.
