Summary

From No.1 New York Times bestselling author Daniel Silva comes a stunning new thriller of vengeance, deception, and betrayal.

What’s done cannot be undone…

At an exclusive school in Switzerland, mystery surrounds the identity of the beautiful girl who arrives each morning in a motorcade fit for a head of state. She is said to be the daughter of a wealthy international businessman. In truth, her father is Khalid bin Mohammed, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia. Once celebrated for his daring reforms, he is now reviled for his role in the murder of a dissident journalist. And when his child is brutally kidnapped, he turns to the one man he can trust to find her before it is too late.

Gabriel Allon, the legendary chief of Israeli intelligence, has spent his life fighting terrorists, including the murderous jihadists financed by Saudi Arabia. Prince Khalid has pledged to break the bond between the Kingdom and radical Islam. For that reason alone, Gabriel regards him as a valuable if flawed partner. Together they will become unlikely allies in a deadly secret war for control of the Middle East. Both men have made their share of enemies. And both have everything to lose.

Middle East plots

Good story based on real characters and incidents. Perhaps it is a bit overlong and eventually becomes less credible. The reading is very strange. The reader's voice is fine but he reads in short staccato bursts which do not take any account of normal punctuation and rhythm

Always a good story

This one is set in current events and weaves it through explaining the complexity of geo politics.

Propaganda for Israel

It’s unbelievable how “propagandistic” the story is... has an entertaining plot but please... Gabriel is a saint and a superman, mosad agents are good hearted and cuddly, russians are bad and putin is the villain...

Daniel Silva always writes a great novel.

A really great listen, a story to keep you transfixed and wanting to hear more from George Guidall. The best artist at rendering a great novel.

So up to date with history

I have sent this book to my son as his first audio. My husband and I share a book when we are relaxing but Gabriel keeps us on our feet. George Guidall is definitely the best narrator of these books. We enjoyed the prologue as it explained a lot. Cannot wait for the next one!
