Summary

When the luxurious Blue Train arrives at Nice, a guard attempts to wake serene Ruth Kettering from her slumbers. But she will never wake again – for a heavy blow has killed her, disfiguring her features almost beyond recognition. What is more, her precious rubies are missing.

The prime suspect is Ruth’s estranged husband, Derek. Yet Poirot is not convinced, so he stages an eerie re-enactment of the journey, complete with the murderer on board…

I don't get the story. It is not the best agatha christie book. But is a good one. The reader is very good and overall it's quite good

Generally good

Not bad but hoped for a different twist. It rose to a crescendo but the end was a bit of an anticlimax.

Captivating Christie

loving the audio books. After watching the episode, the book gives a different angle to the story. Heading off to the Seven Dials next.

One of the best.

Could this be better than Murder On The Orient Express..? I think so myself! Great story and characters. And a formidable leading lady. Loved it. Highly recommended.

An excellent story

I honestly did enjoy this book although I dont think it was as good as some of agatha Christie's other works. I really enjoy the first person narration that she usually writes in and the third person approach in this was less pleasing. would recommend this book if you want to read the full reportoire however, if you are a casual, one off reader, I would recommend starting with something else. All the Miss Marple books are super and the first 3 poirot books are ingenious. I really enjoyed the strong female character if katherine in this and there were many comedic aspects, however, I spent the first hour and a half feeling thoroughly bewildered. I hope that the next poirot book returns to Christie's usual impeccable quality as I have found this and the big 4 rather disappointing compared to what I have come to expect. still a good listen though

very compelling and we'll read

compelling and well read but still some loose ends untied (or at least things I didn't understand or pick up), which is a bit unsatisfying!
