About this listen

The psychological thriller from the NUMBER ONE bestselling author of The Nurse!

She wants what you have...

Hannah Parker is a woman who always gets what she wants.

When her current husband discovers she has been lying to him – again - she knows it’s time to move on and find someone who can give her the life she desires… The life she knows she deserves…

But who will be the lucky man?

When her eye catches a glimpse of an old flame in a photograph, she’s sure it’s a sign. Mark Shepherd has always been in her thoughts – they’d been happy once, he’d adored her, but she’d made a mistake and let him get away. She won’t make the same mistake again….

Hannah is older now and wiser. She knows what men want and she knows how to keep them happy.

So what if Mark is happily married with a family of his own?

All good things must come to an end…

Don't miss another nail-biting listen from the queen of psychological thrillers, Valerie Keogh! Perfect for fans of J.A. Baker, Keri Beevis and Nina Manning.

I loved this story, it makes you wonder where or how it will end, and it did just that.

A great tale of manipulation, narcissism and being a little to late -‘really enjoyed it

Narcissism at its finest

Was hooked throughout but really disappointed in the ending, very flat and a bit predictable. Good characters and performance great.

Started strong, ended a bit flat…

Obviously you want to instantly dislike the mistress and her sneaky voice and Susan a loveable mum and wife. But I just struggled to get involved in the story. A weak man and old lover. I pretty much guessed the story midway through. But that being said I did enjoy listening to it unfold. An easy pick and up listen you don't really need to concentrate too much.

It an easy listen

This is an easy read, perfect for getting back into reading or relaxing on the beach.

Hannah is spiteful to the core and always gets what she wants. When she decides to reconnect with her first love, Mark, she doesn't care that he's been married for twenty years; she wants him, and she's determined to get him.

With a troubled childhood and a violent husband, Hannah's life has been far from easy, but does that justify her destructive behaviour toward others?

Is Susan, Mark's wife, as dreary as Hannah believes?
3.5/5

A fast paced thriller/love triangle.

Great story with twists over the main plot but it also touches the problem faced by many parents when the (youngest) child is leaving the home and beginning independent life. The parallel narration by two female heroines is great and proper narrators made this audiobook a real masterpiece. Great in all dimensions.

Wow!

Great storyline - pace of story was good - really surprise ending - you could relate to both female characters- Brilliant!

Great read

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

The story bumbled along at one pace which never seemed to differ, there was some interesting if somewhat predictable plot twists, but there was no build up to them so mostly just drifted by. The final twist could have been a real WOW moment but again no build up, no tension and instead of thinking Wow it was more like Whatever! Average at best on a good day!
