Summary

The Sunday Times best seller

We all want to lead a happy life. Traditionally, when in need of guidance, comfort or inspiration, many people turn to religion. But there has been another way to learn how to live well - the humanist way - and in today's more secular world, it is more relevant than ever.

In The Little Book of Humanism, Alice Roberts and Andrew Copson share over 2,000 years of humanist wisdom through an uplifting collection of stories, quotes and meditations on how to live an ethical and fulfilling life, grounded in reason and humanity.

With universal insights, The Little Book of Humanism is a perfect introduction to and a timeless anthology of humanist thought from some of history and today's greatest thinkers.

What a lovely little book

As a fellow humanist, I love this book.
What a wonderful world place the world would be if only we taught one hour of humanism in our schools worldwide every week, and discuss the lives of humanists. All the quotes in this book give mountains of inspiration for that.

Short and sweet!

You listedn to this audiobook and want to exclaim: "I'm a humanist!" The book is short and sweet, as everything that matters should be.

Articulates ideas that have been on the edge of my thoughts.

I do agree with all this book says. It puts into words concepts and ways of living that are outside the mainstream that much of the modern world has rejected.

Interesting

Whilst I found the book interesting and enlightening, I found the constant use of quotes made it disjointed and difficult to follow.

Drivel

More religious pamphlet than ‘little book’. Something of a collection of quotes strung together with a few very ordinary ideas. Nothing life changing. Also similar to other religions snippets of very generic health advice completely unrelated to other ‘ideas’. I’d recommend not buying this one. Sorry.
