Summary
“How long are you going to wait before you demand the best for yourself?” (Epictetus, Stoic philosopher)
Where can you find joy? Gain strength? How should we face our fears? Deal with the death of a loved one? And what about those reoccurring depressing thoughts?
While traditional schooling doesn’t address such questions, it’s exactly what ancient schools of philosophy were all about: They taught you how to live. Even though these schools don’t exist anymore, you and I and most people are in as much need of a philosophy that guides us through life as we ever were.
This compelling, highly actionable guide shows you how to deal more effectively with whatever life throws at you and live up to your best self.
A mix of timeless wisdom and empowering advice, The Little Book of Stoicism will point the way to anyone seeking a calm and wise life in a chaotic world.

The narrator will drive you mad!
The book is actually very good although the narrator destroys it. Do not down load the audio! Buy the book and read it yourself.

Content is good naration is bad
For those interested in applying stoic techniques to improve their lives this book offers lots of practical advice.
In my eagerness to listen to the content I was a able to get past the naration which frankly is the worst of any audio book I own. I would normally return a book for this reason but the content makes it worthwhile. Endure and renounce!

this can change you
my wife noticed a change in me when I started reading this. She said I was becoming more mellow..this is a recommendation indeed for the book. It easy to follow and was my first audible /audio book . In fact it was so good I am going to listen to it again. I am glad I bought this as an audio book. This to my mind is much more powerful than the written word..I just put my headphones on and I am in a world of my own. Do buy it and most of all remember to be kind to people when you can

Narration
Narration is a problem until you speed it up to al least 1.25.
The book is fine on a superficial level.
There's plenty of deeper books on thus subject than this rather shallow read.

Good topic churlish narration
I am sure that them information in this book is very useful. But, the narration is painfully child like. if you can tolerate it then go for it

Great book, not a fan of the narration
I’m just starting out on this journey of discovering Stoic Philosophy and this book is great. The narration however, isn’t great and just feel like the tone and pace is all wrong.

Noticeable Improvement
I started this book in December and by the end of the month my wife told me she’d noticed an improvement in my demeanor, especially my patience with the kids. I hadn’t told her I was reading it either. Now that I’m done, I think I’ll keep re-reading!

Great practical wisdom on Stoicism!
Simply amazing. Timeless wisdom and articulate narration. Ancient Stoicism texts can be dull and hard to digest. The author does a wonderful job interpreting lessons and advice from these amazing Stoic philosophers. Easy to digest with plenty of practical examples. This is a book to not only learn the basics but apply them in everyday life. Stoic practitioners aren't just keyboard warriors but warriors philosophers. To practice Stoicism is not just reading about it, it's also about practicing, training and embodying the Stoic values. It teaches you to live well and also die well. I usually don't finish audio books, but I did with this one!

A good introducción to Stoicism
From the start you can immediately notice a great effort to do the best summary of the stoic philosophy,l. However the book understood its target wanted practice and that is the majority of the book practices based on stoic ideas. This book however should be treated only as an introduction to the study of Stoicism in my humble opinion. From a mechanical standpoint the chapters don't correlate to the words being said. for example in the index it says Chapter 6 but the narrator says Chapter 8. Also it would be really helpful to have the chapters names in the index for note taking.

The narrator had an odd style of reading
I liked the latter part of the book with the 55 practices. The theory section of the book was somewhat confusing. I read this book as suggested by a mentoring program that I am currently working through. I will read this book again and suggest it to others.
