Summary

Ruined by the narration
While Amanda Scott writes a well-structured quick read historical romance, the narrator struggles with the English accents, which come and go in a very strange fashion. Unfortunately for UK listeners, we are treated to vase, pronounced Vaise, and enquiries as ink-queries, and a number of other oddities. If the narrator just kept her US-type accept it would probably be better, as these words would fit, but they really dont. The maid and the heroine have the occasional west country accent, which again, if it was constant, would not be entirely out of place as they are in Devon, but it comes and goes
I am at an early stage of this book and have to decide soon whether I will be able to finish it, as it is hard going.
Edit * I have now given up tryting to listen to this book. Further examples of the irritating mis-pronunciation, are viscount, pronounced as "vizcount" and Norwich as "norwitch". If someone is going to try to narrate English historical fiction, surely they study a list of English pronunciation first. I think I may have to return this title

Could do better
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Good story lines, but I was distracted a lot by the trans Atlantic twang of the narrator, who even had problems with how some words are pronounced in the UK. Regency Britain sounds better spoken by some one from this side of the pond.

Good story
Good story shame about the narrator, she starts with an English accent then drops into American. Also her pronunciation of certain words is irritating

Waste of a credit!!!!!
This woman can’t act and her accent is really bad. It’s putting me off. Wasted a credit. Either have an American accent or get a British narrator.

Terrible narrator
I'm not sure what accent the narrator is aiming for. It makes following the story very difficult.
