Summary

A really good tale, labyrinthine and engaging,
Regardless of your politics this is a great story. A reasonably balanced depiction of those on both sides of the fence (wherever you might see it) and an excellent 'who dun it' by any measure!
Well written and over far to quickly. I am sorry that Tom Watson has stepped away from politics though his reasons bleed clear from the narrative. All massively topical of course though the interest doesn't depend on that.
In any event he is a welcome author and I hope this is the beginning of his career in political fiction. I look forward to the next. Obviously a good writing partnership, the characters are well drawn and interesting.
Recommended.

Complicated
Life in Westminster - could be interesting book if you really love British politics. You do need to concentrate though due to the many characters. Really hard to review this book - seems like not much happens (even at the end) but when you think back to the individuals, I suppose a lot happens. Different.

A well played-out story with an insight into the Westminster bubble. I know it's fiction but aspects felt uncomfortably plausible.

I liked his first book but I have abandoned this halfway through too slow found it very boring which is a shame because I was looking forward to reading this book

Not my favourite
Overall, I was disappointed. It was not the political inside thriller that I hoped for.
It was one of those books I stuck with to see how it evolved, rather than something I was enjoying.
Not recommended.
