THE PERFECT DAY FOR A HIKE

Seeking the escape of a lifetime, four friends hike out into the beautiful Norwegian wild – nothing between them and the mountain peak but forest, sea and sharp blue sky.

THE PERFECT PLACE TO DISAPPEAR

But there’s a darker side to the wilderness. A woman went missing here one year ago. Now the friends are hiking into the heart of the mystery. And waiting on the trail is someone who’d do anything to keep their secrets buried – and to stop the group walking away alive . . .

Atmospheric

Wonderful delivery, I could listen to that voice all day. Story was very strong leading clearly but not obviously to an exciting finale.
Well described characters that I could relate to and landscape descriptions so clear, I thought I was there

Predictable

I Enjoyed it, was an easy listen. However, characters were quite unlikeable and highly predictable

Loved it!

Really enjoyed this thrilling ride through the Norwegian mountains. I like books that have the chapters shared between all characters giving their perspective. Looked forward to hearing what happened next so finished it quickly. Lots of twists and turns.

Great story narrated brilliantly

The best narration in a long time which helps draw you in to a story with many twists

Starts slow but stick with it

It was a slow burn but once I got into it, it really took off and was gripping. I can’t say I warmed to any of the characters, as they seemed a bit two dimensional but the description of the Norwegian landscape made me feel as if I were there. The narration was really good and added to the overall enjoyment of the book. Worth a listen, although not as bedtime reading otherwise you may be awake all night!

More chick-lit than thriller

Four women who have known each other since school, go for a hiking holiday in Norway and get into trouble. During their adventure we get to know about their lives, their relationships with each other and their relationships back home.
Not a strong storyline, but an "easy read" if you're doing something else while listening.
Quite a long drawn-out ending after what seemed like the climax. I was wondering whether we might get an ending twist - but we didn't.

a good listen

I enjoyed this story. I wouldn't describe it as a must read but it was entertaining and I dipped in and out of it. The narrator was good.
