About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

From the multi-million copy best seller—a sweeping, sun-drenched story of love, family and untold secrets....

Proud grandmother Matelda Cabrelli always has something to say. But, as she faces the end of her life, she worries she's failed to tell the stories that matter. Most of all, she finds herself needing to tell the tale of her mother Domenica's two great loves.

First, Domenica's childhood sweetheart: a boy from her own small coastal town of Viareggio. Second, a mysterious captain: an infatuation forged in the midst of WW2, and the father Matelda never knew.

Now, before her time runs out, it falls to Matelda to tell Domenica's story. And for the Cabrelli women to unpick the mysteries, passions and tragedies that sent Domenica away from Italy—then brought her home again....

From Sunday Times best-selling author Adriana Trigiani comes The Good Left Undone, an emotional, immersive new novel full of secrets that unfold in breathtaking turns....

Enjoyable

Not the best book I’ve read by this author but entertaining all the same. Performance of the main character was monotone and didn’t really do the character justice, but the other narrators were good

A complicated family saga

It took me a while to actually get into this story despite enjoying this genre I didn't find it easy to find common ground with the present storyline and was confused with the male Italian characters however the story was fairly good Narration was very well done Just a bit perplexed whether l enjoyed it or not

Another brilliant story

Seriously I could not put this book down. I’m a big fan of Adriana Trigiani, and this book was simply stunning. For me it was the perfect holiday audio book on the beach.

Adriana’s descriptions and story telling is such a gift to the reader. Characters are vibrant and there is intense research that has gone into setting the scenes. Family is a bond and every face tells a story, and it is done so beautifully in this book.

The Cabrelli family women are strong, follow traditions and are able to adapt to the modern times no matter what happens. Some amazing words of wisdom throughout the book. Makes you want to go and hug your loved ones. Can’t recommend it enough. A heart warming tale that has you gripped from the start to the end. This is a book I will read again some day.

Just a really lovely story of how important family is and how much we can learn from those that came before us.

dissapointing

loved her earlier books, this one felt like it hadn't been edited. It was too long and the story and characters felt disjointed.
