Summary
Knock...knock...
When Emma finds a dead body on her porch with her name written on the dead man's hand, she uncovers a sinister clue to the mystery that has haunted her since childhood.
FBI Agent Emma Griffin is sent undercover to the small sleepy town of Feathered Nest to uncover the truth behind the strings of disappearances that has left the town terrified.
To Emma, there is nothing that can lay buried forever. Even though her own childhood has been plagued by deaths and disappearances. Her mother’s death, her father’s disappearance, and her boyfriend’s disappearance. The only cases that she hasn’t solved. Her obsession with finding out the truth behind her past was what led her to join the FBI.
Now, she must face what may be her biggest case. In cabin 13, there lies an uneasy feeling. The feeling of her movements being watched. When a knock on her door revealed a body on her porch and her name written on a piece of paper in the dead man’s hand. Suddenly, her worlds collide.
With the past still haunting her, Emma must fight past her own demons to stop the body count from rising.
The woods have secrets. And this idyllic town has dark and murderous ones. Either, she reveals them or risk them claiming her, too.
In Feathered Nest, nothing is what it seems.
The girl in cabin 13 is about to find out that the dead may have secrets of their own.
The Girl in Cabin 13 is the first book in the Emma Griffin Mystery series. It can be listened to as a stand-alone.

------- 3.5 STARS -------
So The Girl in Cabin 13 started out strong. I went back-and-forth between feeling intrigued by the storyline and irked frequently by FBI agent Emma Griffin. She's an FBI agent, I get it, she's undercover but she flounders nearly as much as she excels. Instead of her seeming like one of those female agents that rock the entire case, she seems slightly inexperienced.
Saying all that, I can't help that I was seriously into the story and the mystery. I can't figure out who is lying and who isn't. I enjoy stories that I can't put together so I find myself looking forward to the next audiobook... The Girl that Vanished is up next. I’m hoping for some answers! I liked the narrator though. Claire Duncan did a good job pulling off a strong woman. For as many negatives as Emma has, she is a strong and fierce agent. Duncan was able to portray her attitude and mannerisms pretty well.

Absolutely loved it!
I was hooked to this audiobook within minutes of starting it and had to listen to it in one sitting.
Emma was a little naive to be an FBI agent but this was her first case being back after some leave and it started off with quite a surprise, arriving at her cabin undercover to find a dead man in her porch.
I liked the investigating throughout this book, the chilling things that happened, the cabin seemed quite eerie and I was shocked at who the murderer turned out to be, they were not even on my radar! That twist was so good, although creepy too.
The narrator made this audiobook come alive, she had a fantastic voice, and drew me into Emma’s world.
I don’t give 5 stars very often but this audiobook definitely deserves it!

Book "so-so"; Narration terrible
I'm still about an hour from the end, and I'm FORCING myself to finish it. The narrator is bad enough that it's I'm tempted to jump ship without knowing how it ends. The book could be great. I wouldn't know. I've been cringing so much the last few days, I honestly couldn't tell you. I just hope the ending is worth it. If not, I'll never get those hours of my life back.

Interesting
The Girl In Cabin 13 by A.J. Rivers was an exciting book to listen too. Now even though I said that doesn’t mean that I loved everything about the book. I figured out who the killer was pretty quick into the book, which let me down because this book did have quite a few things that I love in books. So many items in this book are rushed, and at times they don’t make much sense. If you listen to this book because you love strong female leads, this isn’t the book for you. I spent a bunch of time wondering how Emma got her job with the FBI and how she hasn’t gotten killed or fired because of all the insane things she does and says throughout the book. I did enjoy the narrator of this book. Her voice seemed like someone I had listened to before. I will, for sure, listen to more books by her because she made me want to listen to this book. As I said before, I did enjoy about half of the book, and if you are looking for a mystery book that isn’t intense and that has a main character who always creates more problems for her self I would listen to this book, but if you get annoyed with idiot characters than I would skip this book.
FTC: I received a free copy of this book from Audiobookworm in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.
