Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

This practical and inspirational guide to healing from the best-selling author of The Choice shows us how to release your self-limiting beliefs and embrace your potential.

The prison is in your mind. The key is in your pocket.

In the end, it's not what happens to us that matters most - it's what we choose to do with it. We all face suffering - sadness, loss, despair, fear, anxiety, failure. But we also have a choice; to give in and give up in the face of trauma or difficulties or to live every moment as a gift.

Celebrated therapist and Holocaust survivor Dr Edith Eger provides a hands-on guide that gently encourages us to change the imprisoning thoughts and destructive behaviours that may be holding us back. Accompanied by stories from Eger's own life and the lives of her patients her empowering lessons help you to see your darkest moments as your greatest teachers and find freedom through the strength that lies within.

Remarkable

I read the choice last year and when I saw Edith Eger had released another book, I decided to try it on audible. This book is a must read or a must listen. It’s delivered fantastically on audible, when I sometimes struggle with the delivery of books on audible. I’ve read a number of “self help” books in my time and have been classed as having depression from a very young age and Edith Eger’s books speak to me in a way that others do not!

The Key to Letting Yourself Free

Came across Edith Eger's lecture on YouTube last year, read her first book "The Choice" and was rooting for her next one.
Dr Edie sums up the most important keys of getting over trauma from adverse childhood experience to everyday life struggles.
Her love and compassion for humanity is enmeshed in every sentence.
A must read/listen ❤️

Thought provoking

But you must choose whether you can hear her.
Normally I'd avoid these sorts of head shrinking books but I'm open to listening to someone who has truly suffered and makes it their life's mission to help others. Because of that I heard her...
