Summary

Charlie Parker’s investigations draw him into a world of modern furies; goddesses of vengeance.

The Furies: mythological snake-haired goddesses of vengeance, pursuers of those who have committed unavenged crimes. Now, private investigator Charlie Parker is drawn into a world of modern furies. In The Sisters Strange, the return of the criminal Raum Buker to Portland, Maine brings with it chaos and murder, as an act of theft threatens not only to tear apart his own existence but also that of Raum’s former lovers, the enigmatic sisters Dolors and Ambar Strange. And in The Furies, Parker finds himself fighting to protect two more women as the city of Portland shuts down in the face of a global pandemic, but it may be that his clients are more capable of taking care of themselves than anyone could have imagined....

Two novels in one from the master of the modern supernatural thriller.

The story deserves a better reading

The story is great but the voice actor just ruins it for me. The intonation doesn't flow and the female characters all have the same irritating high pitched nasal tone. I found myself struggling to choose to listen to the story because of the reading.

I really missed this author and narrator

This book was clearly written during a Global Pandemic period by an author living across two distant countries. JC and JH have been a dream team of so many books... this wasnt up to their exceptional standard but was still very good and far better than 99% of stuff currently put out.... I really enjoyed it. Thankfully, unlike other similar authors in the genre, he is clearly not using 'ghost writers' to do the grunt work which is why all the character don't change personality 13 books into a series!!

I’ve listened to all the Charlie Parker books over the years. Love them.

I would love to say I loved this one too..but..I can’t. I persisted for old time’s sake, but it’s starting to feel like Charlie Parker has run his course. It’s understandable. It’s been a wild ride - what could be left to happen? Fingers crossed I’m proven wrong though.

Two books in one?

This seems to be a merging of two separate stories - both enjoyable, but neither quite weightier enough to carry their place in the series. As always the narrator is top notch.

Review of the Furies

I am a huge fan of this series but this book is not of the same quality . Story line is very poor and disconnected from the themes of the other book . I find it hard to believe that this has been written by the same author.

Charlie Parker and gang are Back !!!

I forgot how much I loved the characters Charlie Parker & Team brought to life by Jeff Harding.
Brilliant Narration. Story wasn't as great as some of the previous books, but still good and the film reels in my head brought Parker, Loui, Angel, Fulchi Brothers and the new hotel manager to life by Jeff Harding.

Very Entertaining !

Can't wait for the next one !!!

Charlie x 2! Double the fun!

Charlie Parker is back in not one but two novels. Maybe slightly shorter than normal but still full blown novels in their own right. As always Jeff Harding brings Charlie to life like no other can. If I was to be picky I think I preferred The Furies to The Sisters Strange, but not by much and I loved them both. The oncoming pandemic in The Furies gave an extra layer of impending doom which worked fabulously. Ok, now I’m ready for the next one.
