Summary

One postman! Two postmen! Three postmen! All murdered!

John J. Malone sticks his nose into the case of the dead postmen and picks up a crack on the head, an Australian beer hound, and six redheaded twins. It all begins when he takes on a new client, Rodney Fairfaxx. Rodney was tabbed for the postmen murders because he hadn’t received a letter from a dead girl for more than 30 years. Malone doesn’t think that this is enough reason to kill, but he can’t prove it.

A real treat

I thought I'd give this a go after listening to The Sunday Pigeon, written by the same author(featuring a completely different set of characters) and read by Johnny Heller. I'd come across Johnny Heller when he narrated P N Elrod's Vampire Diaries. His voice is perfect for the setting of this ....40s 'gumshoe nostalgia' as a previous reviewer said.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, had quite a few unexpected laugh out loud moments. Unexpected because I hadn't imagined it would have comedic moments.

Thank you Audible's Plus catalogue for giving me the opportunity to listen to hidden gems like this.

Good ,entertaining listen!

Good story overall .Excellent narration brings comic moments to life, and lifts the story. Like a Damon Runyon meets Raymond Chandler. Lots to enjoy along the way in this story.!
