Summary
Is it truly better to have loved and lost? Bethany Cahill says nope. Eleven years ago, her fellow cheerleader Reid Thatcher held her heart in her hand...and crushed it like a bug. Since then, Bethany avoids risk, reward, and anything romantic on TV. Just, no. When a new patient walks into her office, she’s catapulted into the past and staring into Reid’s eyes, who is still annoyingly stunning. Forgiveness doesn’t come easy, and Bethany isn’t about to let Reid in. Not after all she took.
Reid never understood why Bethany ran from her all those years ago, but no kiss since has ever been as satisfying as Bethany’s lips on hers. Orchestrating a run-in was the best idea she’s ever had, and Reid plans to get to the bottom of Bethany’s silence, a mystery she can’t let drop. But she hadn’t planned on the reckoning in store when she learns the truth.
When Bethany and Reid confront their past, they give new meaning to letting go, forgiveness, and a future worth fighting for.

Loved it!
Beautiful, well written story especially love the moves from ‘now’ and ‘then’ which with some authors are not as well crafted as Melissa has achieved in this book. The narrator is new to me, but I enjoyed her nuances. It’s gonna be one of my go-to books. Love the ending.

Loved it
A second chance love story with just the right amount of angst & humour. The story begins with adult Bethany running into her first love Reid & from there we mix it up from the past & back into the present. We learn how they got together & how they have to get over the past to see if they can have a future.
I loved the characters, the storyline & Lula Larkin's narration. Melissa Brayden delivers again and i would recommend this book & the authors other titles.
If you want to sit back & listen to a story that has little angst, lots of humour & a feel good storyline then this is for you.

another winner
it's not low angst, but the writing is so good the angst is beautiful, I'm amazed how authors write in the style of now & then, the blend has to be just right to work, and melissa does a wonderful job.
I love Lula larkin as a narrator, so underrated, and her voice as used for Reed, is one of the sexiest.
happiness and warmth eminate from word & voice to create a 5☆+ rating.

Great story
This was a well written book, the jump between the present and the past was well organized. Narration was good but audio had some problems.

Meh
I didn't love this one. it wasn't bad, just boring in some places. Very predictable, with characters that were under developed. Narrator was ok.

An interesting premise, and I enjoyed the story. An easy listen. Narration was not my favorite, though.

One of those books.
This is one of those books that will stick with me. I loved the slow burn, and Melissa Brayden has such a wonderful way with character building. Sweet and sincere main characters, and Lula killed the narration. A+
