Summary
James Bowers has spent every day for the pasty 40 years on his family’s cattle ranch outside of San Antonio, Texas. It’s hard work, but it’s honest work. And as a fourth-generation rancher, the work is in his blood. But when an EMP is detonated while his wife and son are in the city, rendering all modern conveniences obsolete, James must travel into a chaotic environment filled with danger that will test him in ways that he never thought possible.

Good Story
I am a fan of EMP survival stories and this story was somewhat different. I enjoyed the readers performance. i didn't see any reason for the multiple F-bombs in the story. They didn't add anything to the story.

intense
Brutal, raw, descriptive, and memorable. The ending did seem hopeful after all the catastrophic losses. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

An excellent, believable, EMP survival novel!
An excellent EMP survival novel in a believable situation. I loved the characters and great plot. Even had some sawdust in my eyes at one point. The narrator did great with the different characters, male and female, young and old. An excellent read/listen I would recommend to anyone.

Good
Good look at a community where you work the land and helping others. Even more so when something unknown happens and communication is nil. Narration by Cheryl was good
