Summary

Camden Seaver had it easy - a loving family, plenty of money, and the freedom to follow his dreams while his older brother, Sebastian, took charge of the family business. But when a tragic plane crash killed his parents, all the responsibilities he never wanted landed firmly on his shoulders. Now saddled with his crazy, grief-stricken brother and his dad’s multimillion dollar company, Cam doesn’t trust in dreams anymore. He’s forgotten what “easy” feels like.

FBI Agent Kendrick “Cort” Cortland learned the hard way that he couldn’t depend on anyone but himself. Before joining the FBI, the one constant in his life was his foster brother, Damon - and then Damon disappeared. Now, Cort is determined to find his brother and to bring down the man responsible for ruining Damon’s life, Sebastian Seaver. He’s got nothing left to lose.

When Cort’s investigation leads him to Seaver Tech...and Camden Seaver...what started as a quest for revenge and a one-night deception quickly turns into far more than either man bargained for. But how can either man trust in something that seems so easy? As long-held secrets are revealed, the attraction between Cam and Cort becomes combustible - an undeniable love that will either make or destroy them. Will Cam and Cort let their conflicting loyalties drive them apart? Or will they decide that sometimes love is the easy way?

characters need dignity and standards

It makes me super annoyed when characters are used sexually, but, ommmggg he likes Baywatch, so let's forgive him 2 secs after being absolutely humiliated and used because how cute is that. Noooo! Give your characters some standards.

Instead of spending chapters and chapters talking about useless geeky stuff (we get it.... they are geeks), use that time to actually build their relationship and make them work for their love.

Great FBI action adventure

Independent reviewer for Gay Romance Reviews
I love the Way Home series so I was delighted to get this ARC. Great story with plenty to keep my entertained. The romance was sweet and snarky and the action was full on from page 1.
Michael Dean was awesome as always.

Island of adventure

Michael Dean is one of my top favourite narrators, so this was a good choice for me as he does such a wonderful job of bringing the guys to life.
In this new series (Way Home), May Archer launches the story with a bang! I loved this story of missing/presumed dead brother, FBI investigations and a grieving CEO whose brother is acting strangely and isolating himself in the wake of their parents' death in a plane crash a year earlier. I love how Camden falls for the FBI agent before he knows who he really is, and it's a tale of second and third and fourth? chances to woo the sweet guy our serious FBI hero has unexpectedly fallen for. Highly recommended for all lovers of Action, adventure, and some sweet MM romance.

A Story Of Trust And Betrayal!

This is the first book in The Way Home Series. What an engrossing book the writing was great. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likeable. The characters were well developed and thought out. Cam and Cort are the MC’s of this book. There was humor, betrayal, brothers, a business, FBI, blackmail, a hotel pool, a private island, a plane crash, grief and so much more in this book. I loved the text conversations between Cam and Cort they are great. The narration was good it wasn’t monotone and had good follow.

Here is a quote from the book, “Cort remembered why he’d brought Cam up her in the first place. “ You wanna see something cool?” he asked. Cam raised one eyebrow. “Is this the part where you pull off your underwear?” Cort laughed again – God, when was the last time he’d laughed so much? “Dude, when I pull them off, you’ll be saying something a lot better than cool.” Cam snorted. “It’s another piece of random trivia for you to add to your stash. Watch, “Cort said. Then he dived under the water and screamed, sending all the air in his lungs rushing to the surface in a cloud of bubbles.”. There is more but you will need to read the book which I can highly recommend. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Enjoyed

I enjoyed the chemistry between Cam and Court especially when Court felt bad for using Cam. They both had things that they had to sort out. Brill narrator.

A good mystery/FBI romamce

A good solid story with good solid narration. The book was pacey and exciting, and the tension built up nicely both between the main characters and with the 'who dun it' element of the story. I felt like the big confrontation at the end of the book resolved a bit quickly and I think Cam let Court off the hook pretty easily. But these are minor points. Overall a good book and I would listen to more in the future.

Exciting & A Fabulous Romance, MD Is Wonderful!

What a fantastic story! The Easy Way is my first experience with May Archer’s fantastic writing, and I’m thoroughly impressed. I can hardly wait for the release of the audio version of the next book in The Way Home series!

Ms. Archer has perfected the ratio of action/romance/angst, and this novel simply flys by. The characters are unique and interesting, there’s fantastic chemistry between the main guys, and holy, hot, damn but May Archer writes a wonderful love scene!

Michael Dean does a fantastic job with The Easy Way. I think he performs the *erm* romantic moments better than any narrator out there, and May Archer’s beautifully written love scenes are his forté.

Exciting, romantic, erotic, and occasionally even delightfully humorous, I highly recommend this one.

Hot AF. Light-hearted. Uncomplicated.

I enjoyed listening to this fast paced, whodunit mystery, insta-lust, insta-love, feel good, MM romance with a HFN/HEA ending. I particularly liked the snarky banter and tongue in cheek dialogues. And even , when I figured out , right away, who was/were villain/villains , of the story, it still kept my attention until the end.

Hotness index: High
Sweetness meter: High
Angst levels: Low
Drama levels: Medium low
Will re-listen: Probably yes
Recommend: Yes

Michael Dean narration was engaging , entertaining and exuberant. His portrayal of Cam and Cort was on point.

Easy Like Sunday Morning!

I've read the book before and most of the books I've read, the audio version makes everything better.
The story becomes enhanced by Michael's narration. The banter more alive. The mystery more riveting. And the steam!! HOT!
The chemistry more palpable even if there were some secrets. All in all, an enjoyable listen.

Steamy and so very engaging!!

This was hot, steamy, engaging and absolutely brilliant!
I literally listened to this audio book in a day and that rarely happens!

Thia book held my interest from the get go and it kept my interest till the very end.

Michael Dean's audio delivery breathes life into the characters making it all too real and riveting.

This was a great start to this new series and I can't wait to dive into the next book.

A fabulous story!

Oh, I really liked this story! The storyline is fantastic, the mystery about the plane accident is so very well done!

I love the way the relationship between Camden and Cort evolves, slowly, going back and forth due the secrets Cort is keeping until he is unable to sustain the silence and all the truth comes out in the open.

They are both complex, interesting characters. You might want to scream at them from time to time but can't help to understand why they are acting as they do. And the fraternal love between Cort and Damon and Camden and Baz is a great motivation and point of understanding between them.

The dynamic between the two MC is also great. I love that they are in equal footing, and how to show vulnerability and trust each other is a conscient decision.

I'm looking forward to the next books in this series.

Michael Dean does a better job here than in other books that I had listen with him as narrator, but I still think he is over the top in some scenes, particularly when portraying strong emotions.

AMAZING!!

WOW!! What an absolutely spectacular story and an unbelievable performance by Michael Dean. Cam and Court are so incredibly hot together right from the start. I love watching their relationship grow and flourish as they unravel all the secrets not just between them but also all around them. Their back-and-forth banter is great and I really enjoyed it all throughout the story. It’s a great start to a new series and I can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out in audio and hopefully with the same narrator. The narrator did an absolutely amazing performance of all the characters and interpreting the story itself. I could not stop listening to this one and stayed up much later than I should have to make sure I finish this one but it was soooo worth it! I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Great start to an awesome series

I read the ebook first, so I knew what was going to happen, but hearing Michael Dean bring it to life was better than I hoped for. He did a great job with the voices for the characters.

I absolutely love Cam and Cort together. Their chemistry couldn’t be denied. That stairwell scene.....whoa. Hot, hot, hot. The storyline flowed smoothly and was intriguing. I love that while the main characters find their HEA, the underlying stor continues on in the next book, never skipping a beat.

Kinda fizzles out towards the end but still a good listen

This was so good in the beginning. “Accidentally falling in love with your mark” stories are my jam. But in the end it was kind of a letdown for me. Narration was on point though👌🏻

Cort and Cam learn to trust together

Michael Dean did a great job with this one. I liked the story fine but his narration added some energy into the characters. Coming out of the tragic loss of his parents, Cam was vulnerable. I’m surprised he hadn’t been taken advantage of before Cort. They fit together and they’re men growing together. Good story
