Summary

Being a last-year high-schooler who is four feet, eight inches (142 cm) in height is one thing, but having the muscles of a bodybuilder and the face of a middle-aged biker at the same time is another. And don't you dare to bring up shaving in front of him. Did I mention that the boy's favorite hobby is smithing?

Derek always wondered if gods had sent him to the wrong world. Until, one day, Earth Awakened. With dungeons, monsters, magic, and status screens, everything became not so different from fantasy fiction or a role-playing game.... Except death was real and monsters would chase you until you experience it firsthand. The sudden change brought chaos to the world, but to the young dwarf, it also brought the opportunity to discover his true self. And maybe to reunite with his real kinfolk. But only if he survived, first.

Who asked him to explore this abandoned mine at the worst time possible? Now Derek is trapped, and the only way to escape is to learn how this mysterious System works. Too bad there's no manual or teacher to help him with that. Or maybe there is? With his unlikely companions - a megalomaniac fairy, a polite dolphid, a twin ogre, and a mysterious cloaked girl - he's going to survive, he's going to learn, and he's going to show his talent as a Mastersmith!

Teehee...sigh.

First, I do enjoy the book and while I don't like some of the choices, it is a good book. That being said, I loathe the female characters ENTIRELY. I don't know why, but the teehees and emojis really bugged me. They don't seem mature in anyway.

What is the actually hell is this?

I can honestly say I have never wanted to throw my headphones more in the first 3 chapter of a book than I did with this book. The narrator only gets three stars because they agreed to ACTUALLY SPEAK OUT EMOJIS IN A FUCKING AUDIOBOOK. The author had an amazing premise, but with such a cringe-worthy beginning, I can palate this

Terrible Grammar, Fun Idea

The grammar was so bad it was distracting. (My five cents?) But the idea was fun. This is a light listen. The characters don’t really evolve (except in stats). I have no idea why the book was recommended so highly. Guess I need to do more research next time.

Good but

This was a good story and a nice to to a new series but I think it went a little overboard when it comes to putting the main character in dangerous situations where there was no possible outcome and then a strike from the blue saves him at the last moment. The first time the second time and maybe the third time was OK but it got a little old after a while.

Boring and badly written, terrible naration

It's real real bad, and I have a pretty high tolerance considering how rarely litrpg books are any good. Is it a Russian translation? That's how it reads.

meh

not a great book wasn't bad just flat no real loss going on but no real gains to keep it interesting aside from the mc almost getting everything handed to him if a second book came out I'd probably get it if it was on sale as I did for this one
