Couldn’t finish it because of narrator
I don’t know why the narrator decided to have that annoying unique voice when she was narrating the female heroine. Because when she was narrating the other characters and the heroine generally it was fine but somewhat when she was Viv she sounded much older and in my ears distractingly irritating. So much I sadly gave the book up before finishing it- semi midway’s. Regarding the story I will say it’s okay.

A plethora of pathetic Dukes
I hoped this might be an improvement. He stays in character; she becomes a doormat and wimp. His so-called sexy approach comes across as creepy. There is plenty of explicit sex, but the storyline is rubbish. Don't waste your money or credits.

God what a tedious book!
Absolutely awful! So boring, I can’t believe a story can be dragged out over nothing! I can’t believe I carried on listening to it, my only excuse is that I kept hoping for it to improve and go somewhere!!

Awful
i have listened to the other books in the series and liked them, small niggles of Americanisms that are quite large niggles to a British ear listening to a period drama. I know it's a story and i should suspend belief... but, critters and comparing something to a quarter horseb if British would have been any number of breeds but not an american one... like this narrator but she nearly learned to read through reading and not listening as there are a few mispronounced words which on a good day i try not to notice but on an irritable day really annoying...cringeworthy
