Summary
Knowing the truth will destroy her. Keeping it secret will destroy him.
It’s Livia’s 40th birthday, and she’s having the party of a lifetime to make up for the wedding she never had. Everyone she loves will be there except her daughter Marnie, who’s studying abroad. But although Livia loves Marnie, she’s secretly glad she won’t be at the party. She needs to tell Adam something about their daughter, but she’s waiting until the party is over so they can have this last happy time together.
Adam wants everything to be perfect for Livia, so he’s secretly arranged for Marnie to come home and surprise her on her birthday. During the day, he hears some terrible news. He needs to tell Livia, because how can the party go on? But she’s so happy, so excited - and the guests are about to arrive.
The Dilemma - how far would you go to give someone you love a last few hours of happiness?
One day that will change a family forever, The Dilemma is the breathtaking, heartbreaking new novel from the million-copy-selling Sunday Times best seller BA Paris.

Very good
I’ve both loved and loathed this authors work. This was very good. You could feel the weight of the burdens people were carrying, it was so well written, the characters well drawn. The narrators were excellent.

Not really much of a Dilemma..
Not much of a Dilemma I thought the story was quite weak. It was recommended to me. But I wouldn't say it was that good.

Interesting concept but too drawn out lacking action
Like the others say it is very difficult to like the characters. It’s almost like as if they were sociopaths of some type.
The premise of how one action can start a chain of events is interesting but gets lost in a storyline that if you skipped the middle 10 chapters you could still follow (I fell asleep for 3 chapters and still could follow it when I woke up) I kept waiting for something to happen but it never really did.
However, the narrators do a great job and it wasn’t the worst book I’ve listened to it’s ok, to pass the time whilst you potter around.

The forth book I have read or listened to by B A Paris, this I possibly the best so far. Brilliant story brilliantly told,. Goes into human emotion in expert detail, made me cry on more than one occasion, can’t wait for her next book...

Done in 2 sittings
I couldn’t stop listening to this, the book hasn’t been given great reviews and yes it’s frustrating in places but I loved it. Not often will I get through an audiobook quickly I usually dip in and out of them but I couldn’t wait to find out what happened. Loved the narrators too.
