About this listen
Strange things are going on in Black Dog Wood, near the village of Nasely. There are rumours that it’s become a popular dogging spot, and there have been alleged sightings of a werewolf-like monster.
And then someone discovers a blindfolded skeleton, bizarrely buried standing up.
When the secretary of a prestigious girl’s boarding school is found murdered, all of the evidence points to the local MP. His only chance to avoid prosecution for a crime that he claims he didn’t commit is to hire ex-homicide detective Frank Shunter.
Meanwhile, the identity of the blindfolded skeleton may reveal a startling truth about the fate of murder-mystery writer Agnes Crabbe’s long lost novel, Wallowing in the Mire....

Excellent, moments of hilarity
Really good crime story, well written with moments of laugh out loud moments which I wasn't expecting.
Certainly one I will listen to many times

Great fun
Brilliantly read and a great, easy book. So good that I downloaded it immediately after I listened to the first book.

Laugh out loud funny
This is a wonderful book. The murder mystery is well-plotted and sweeps you along: for that alone I would enjoy it. However, the humour is just brilliant and I found myself laughing out loud regularly. I also like the narration and my only quip would be that there is zero gap between different sections, so I occasionally got momentarily confused about what was going on. Can't wait for the next one!

Good comic book let down by poor narrator.
I loved the story, but ruined by flat and inaccurate delivery. Please have the book re-recorded by someone who understands comic nuance and could add some laughs.
