About this listen
Penguin Audio presents The Dead Ex by Jane Corry, read by Laura Aikman and Honeysuckle Weeks.
The third twist-filled thriller from The Sunday Times best-selling author of My Husband's Wife and Blood Sisters.
'I wish he'd just DIE.'
He said in sickness and in health. But after Vicki was attacked at work and left suffering with epilepsy, her husband, Daniel, left her for his mistress.
So when Vicki gets a call one day to say that he's gone missing, her first thought is 'good riddance'. But then the police find evidence suggesting that Daniel is dead. And they think Vicki had something to do with it.
What really happened on the night of Daniel's disappearance?
And how can Vicki prove her innocence when she's not even sure of it herself?

Different!
I wasn’t convinced I’d like this at the beginning. BUT I stuck at it and by the end I was invested in it.

A good start then gets a bit ridiculous
Really enjoyed the first half of the book. Reallly easy to get into and good story. It then gets a bit ridiculous and I got bored at the end.

Certainly a different side of the fence.
Although this book is slightly confusing, and you need to concentrate, I thoroughly enjoyed the strange paths women who fall in love with the wrong man will take. Expect the unexpected and double it.

Disappointing and confusing
Too involved and confusing. Also why the strange throaty narrative thrown in during first half? What was all that about? I never did find out.

Not my favourite!
The plot ‘twists’ are a little too predictable.
Laura Aikman was very good but Honeysuckle Weeks’ narration, and especially her terrible attempts at accents, becomes quite distracting and definitely meant that the book is less enjoyable. I will certainly avoid any books narrated by her in the future.

I didn't like it, but did finish
main narrator was really annoying, she was constantly using weird accents, also the story was lacking something

Yet another gold star for Jane Corry.
So compelling, beautifully narrated and 'nail biting' story. Thank you Jane Corry, cannot wait to listen to another of your books.

Excellent
I was hooked from the first chapter. Great book with lots of suspense and plenty to keep you interested. Much better then the last Jane Corry book I read. The narration was also very good. I would definitely recommend.

Quite a good Story, poor narration
This is one I wish I’d read- If only Honeysuckle Weeks had just stuck to her own character!!
