Summary

Leo Carew's much-lauded Under the Northern Sky trilogy draws to its spellbinding conclusion....

Albion continues to be divided by revolt and bloodshed, as alliances collapse and are made anew.

Driven obsessively for glory, the upstart Bellamus and his exiled queen Aramilla are marshalling resistance and building a powerful army.

Returning to the Hindrunn, Keturah is forced to fend for herself, battling enemies on all sides just when she is most in need of a place of safety.

And all the while, the young Black Lord must deal not only with the aftermath of a great betrayal, but the cold shadow of the Kryptea, threatening to destroy everything he has fought for....

Excellent

Another fantastically written book, perfectly narrated.

Initially I was unsure if I would like this book series, I gave it a try as I find Matt Addis is a superb narrator. I am really pleased that I did.

This book absolutely ruined the trilogy for me

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books. They were riveting and kept me 'turning the page', so to speak. The characters were excellent, the story developed nicely. I like the different peoples, landscapes and scenarios, etc. Then the third book came along and took a very strange route, which totally threw the pace off and killed my enjoyment. Without giving away what happens, the book just went off on a completely unnecessary tangent and the ending was just awful. It left me feeling empty and that I had completely wasted my time investing in these characters and the Anakim people. If I could go back in time, I would not start the trilogy, at all. Such a shame.

Good listen

After reading the series, I couldn't get to liking Roper and his brother Scrappy doo, they were just to perfect , good at just about everything, from battle winning tactics to flawless fighting skills. I did like Bellomus though, with all his scheming and looking after NO 1 ,, even sacrificing his queen . So overall I did enjoy the series especially as the ending wasn't what I expected.
