About this listen
One sunny August afternoon, the residents of Cedar Close throw their annual summer barbecue. Children play in the cherry-tree lined street, tables are laden with food and the wine is flowing. For Laurie Mills, it’s her first time meeting the neighbours. And it’s the first time she discovers her husband, Robert, is having an affair.
Cedar Close has always been a nice place to live - a quiet suburban street where everyone looks out for one another and bad things don’t happen.
Until late one evening, when Robert Mills is found dead in his bedroom.
Downstairs, in their beautiful kitchen, his wife, Laurie, sits alone in the dark with her head in her hands.
She can’t remember the last few hours, but she knows she didn’t kill Robert.
The trouble is, no-one believes her....
An utterly gripping thriller about the dark secrets that lie behind closed doors. Perfect for fans of JP Delaney’s The Girl Before and Gone Girl, The Couple on Cedar Close will keep you listening late into the night.

Enjoyable but quite predictable
Again, like the other Dan Riley book I found myself hooked half way through. I guessed the plot and the culprit early on, but still enjoyed the way the story unfolded. Less references to Rachel this time which was welcome. I especially loved the last two chapters.

A really gripping listen.
Well that's a first! I just could not stop listening and completed this on a cold winters day whilst in lock down.Excellent narration with a plot that kept sucking me in. This the second book from Anna-Lou Weatherley I have listened to on Audible, and looking at how young the author looks, I suspect we will have many more books to listen to over the coming years. It also struck me that this would make a fabulous film.

Great Narration, Great story
I really enjoyed the story, if time had allowed I could have I'd have finished it in one go.
The narration was really good, the different parts portrayed by one person never sounded forced.
I would definitely purchase another book by Anna-lou Weatherley or narratted by James Lailey

Thoroughly enjoyable
Great story line although unbelievable and somewhat far fetched, don’t let that prevent you from giving this a try. Complicated and original plot. The author had clearly researched two of the main characters personality disorders and Indeed the impact upon their victims. The narration undertaken by one person, however the characterisations were so cleverly done it was easy to lose oneself and believe in the character being depicted.

I absolutely love this series and the narration is top quality.
I listen to books all day long every day and have lost track of the amount of books I listened to. This is right to the top.

thoroughly entertaining
Great psychological drama, intense, complex but never lurid.
Ostensibly a murder mystery story the complexities of the plot are well woven together and apart from a couple of “convenient” passages used to move the plot along, this a refreshing well crafted novel.
James Lailey’s narration is excellent.
